My team value is only 11.9 with 72K in the bank.  Hmm.....that may not work for me later on.  I knew my cash gen has been way off but that's a bit under.

I wonder if Mikaele is worth a trade in......depending how my shittos perform I'm toying with the idea of May to Mikaele.  Pocket 328K and if Mikaele gets some more minutes, similar scores.....

I listened to the Webster bit near the end.

He isn't planning on playing young players unless there's an injury, and the weak Pompey bench was because of availability. They want to go to RTS' side more, and are working on it.

I don't get why everyone shouts that he's the captain.

It's not like NSW have been some dominant force under his captaincy. If anything they've continued to underperform on multiple occasions.

Sure it hasn't been 8 in a row bad, but they still have not expectations.

Somebody had to be captain in that time. And Teddy has certainly had periods where he was amazing in Origin.

But he also has a shelf life and I don't think his captaincy brings some overwhelming value to warrant keeping him over a better player. Somebody else can captain, just like someone else is coaching.

All 3 of those don't play round 14.

R14 is going to be a shocker.

Just on hooker - Damien Cook from R14 has great byes. I'm assuming he won't be in origin, and that his scoring will pick up once the new coach realises he's a good player. Just time the purchase when he's bottomed out.

I'd love Robson but too, but concerned around origin. JMK is fine for the next couple months. R14 can be covered by Cook or Brailey (or almost anyone)
If anything R16 becomes a too many hookers problem if you have JMK + Cook

Is Teddy officially captain for 2024 - or is it just assumed he'll carry on from last year

I know NSW picked Kurt Gidley for ages pretty much just because he was captain, hope they don't do the same with Teddy. If he's good enough to play on his own merits then put him there, but if he's past it and we have better options then put them in instead

Roger had way more ball last week than the right side and was still ineffective, maybe they're afraid to admit the centre experiment has backfired.

If McGuire picked NSW soley on performance in 2024 so far, who would be picked for this year's origin team?

I rarely watch regular NRL games, so I can't answer this myself.

I know Gus was saying on whatever program he was that people are going to be really shocked with the team Madge picks.

Gus is Gus but I would day he would have some insider knowledge on this. Makes me think there might be a few veterans missing out.

Probably end up being one forced change due to injury. Like whoever replaces Murray or something.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one of Barnett, Mcinnes, Watson get a run. Someone who possesses those sort of traits

Can't speak for the coach, but on form I'd pick a run-on team of:

    Tyrell Sloan
    Alex Johnstone
    Harley Smith-Shields
    Brent Naden
    Charlie Staines
    Cody Walker

    Drew Hutchinson
    Reagan Campbell-Gillard
    Peter Maumezelos
    Keaon Koloamatangi
    Corey Waddell
    Jacob Host
    Jaeman Salmon

And that fact I'm a Maroons fan is irrelevant.

I think whatever happens people will be "shocked"

If you tried to pick a team that didn't shock anyone, would take about 7 microseconds before the "Wow No" comments started rolling in

I'll be running without HOK cover for a bit, picked up JMK this week.
Will keep an eye on teams for the next few rounds to see which back-up hooker option is best, Cook would be a nice pick-up if he doesn't play origin, but Randall, Clark, Watson and Havili have a nice MID DPP

Well I think in this context, he was implying there would be some changes. I guess we will see how it pans out.

Mr Denan Kemp aka Bloke in a Bar just mentioned whispers of Mcinnes playing 9 for the Blues on his radio show with Cam Smith.

Maybe the team announcement will be in a Haunted House? or they will announce it in a pool with a dodgy filter and low level current running through the water or they'll just jump out in front of people from behind corners screaming the team list.

What won't be shocking is if Phil Gould says it will shock a few people and it actually doesn't. He'll probably repeat the same sentence about 8 times until someone acknowledges it as both profound and prophetic (which they will resist but then give in just to shut him up)
