Also I've got 10 trades left and 8 players this week. I wonder if these trades are worth making to take my tally of players up to 10 or if perhaps one or both of them are better left off not being made.
Asiata to Rory O'Brien. Frees up a tiny bit of cash and get someone who will play in 2 remaining bye rounds. Feels like a real waste though, O'Brien's spot ain't assured and it's using up a trade for like what 40 points potentially?
C Scott to Hurrell. I'd consider doing this one purely on the basis that Hurrell could get back to some decent form and start making some cash. Making just this trade though would leave me with only 3k in the bank so can I trust the Hurrellicane?
Both bad trades. You are better off making side ways trades of guns than trades like these.
I can't see Hurrell getting back to even close to his best, he barely looks like breaking a tackle.

I've weighed up Whitehead to Bodene/Proctor or someone of the like but think I'm best to wait for round 19 since they both have one big bye to come from round 15 to 18 but raiders don't play round 19.
Whitehead had 8 missed tackles on the weekend and still made 43 tackles and 38 points so even if he cuts that to 4 missed tackles he scores 50 points. Not worth the trade in my book.
Edit: especially when your worse than slatsy and down to 9 trades. In saying that my team is nearly set.
Smith, Parcell (unsure of who to get for the run home but will prob be friend round 17)
Fifita, Graham, Trob, (Fonua-Blake - hoping he drops out for the run home but could cash in round 17 to fund parcell to friend)
JDB, Mannering, Burgess, Merrin, Whitehead. (Asiata - will have to cash in to NPR round 19-20)
Johnson, Cleary, Hughes, Feeney (happy to run cleary atm and will upgrade around round 19-20 if need be, also can swap Barba to halves)
Dugan, BJ, Croker, Littlejohn
Munster, Tedesco, Radradra, Barba, Mitchell
I count 4 trades and 4 for the run home but with depth in every position bar the halves I'm happy.
890 for the week with captain Sam Burgess so could have been much better.

Yeah you're right. Trades will be at a premium later in the year so might as well hang onto them. Only 8 players though damn am I going to take a hit.

Yeah. I have 13 left at this stage. I have too much average depth and dodgy bye round playing players; if I make a decision that Whitehead doesn't have to be in my final 18 then I free up 300 odd k to try to find someone that only has 1 bye left and averages the same or more than Whitehead. I do think he is going to keep going backwards with points and cash unless Soliola is injured again (he didn't play the 2nd half this week I don't think).
This is purely in line with my bye planning strategy.

Whitehead to Mitchell Frei is appealing but if soliola is injured and the raiders pump some teams at the back end of the season like they usually do then he could get a fair few attacking stats aswell. I'm more inclined to go asiata to frei since he plays two more big byes than asiata and is more likely out of the team for the run home.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 39
My current squad with top 17 in bold
Smith, Friend
Surgess, Graham, Nutira, Leuluai
Parker, Taupau, Harris, Whitehead, ET, Henry
Hunt, Taylor, Cleary, Cullen
Aitken, Holland, HHunt, Gutherson
Munster, Barba, Semi, Mitchell, Feeney
Barba/Mitchell hopefully to turn into Tedesco
HHunt/Gutherson to provide some cash to updgrade halves/forwards.
That's five trades to "complete" my team. Then five for the run home, leaving me two to play with when I need (get bored) them.

Why do you still have hhunt? Those are some missed points for the last howver many rounds right there. The rest is great, although ash taylor I suspect will be upgraded after origin.

Whitehead to Napa/Bodene/Taupau could all be a go but at the end of the day its another trade.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a cash out that maybe gets a few points till after Origin like as you say with Frei. It is probably my only way of grabbing Fifita after Origin.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 39
So I only have 6 trades left, but I completed my team this week (just in time for the bye round! -_- ). Could go Tauks to Gallen post origin if needed (and I need to watch what happens with Norman's court case), but I am pretty happy to run this until the end of the season if I have to
Smith (Friend)
Fifita Graham (JDB)
Surgess Merrin Mannering (ET) (Tauks)
Hunt Norman
Leilua Croker
Tedesco Munster Radradra
Only 10 players this round, my worst bye round of the season.
Rank 207.
