You could see it with Parker last year and this year, not the same player. Seems a sudden decline imo. Much like Hannant.
Wonder if JBird will get more than 10 minutes on weds. Biggest upset in a while to occur on weds night.

SJ scoring 68 just proves this point. The secret to winning fantasy is determining which players are the fanhub favourites & putting them in your team. Forget about doing research on stats, etc because watching the game from a non fantasy angle there's no way he got 9 tb's & scored as he did.

I think NSW will be 'upset' on wed night.

I watched the game also. I guess it comes down to what is determined to be a 'TB'.
Watching SJ, he did a lot of sideways running, and pushed off a lot of players, so is that a TB? Or is a TB breaking through the defensive line?

Pushing off players / fending is a tackle break. He did a bit of that like you said so I don't think his 9 tbs is unbelievable.

tackle break is and always has been fending off a player irrelevant of which way you're running.
Hayne got numerous breaks running sideways and fending off several players.
Tackle breaks inconsistenly get given for attempted tackles where the player doesn't even lay a finger on the player, same way that this may or may not count as a missed tackle.
SJ running through JWH/Napa looks like it was a tackle break even though neither of them touched him.
For me, that's a line break and a tackle break is where you actually break a tackle, not run past someone who is trying to tackle you.
I feel like they're handing them out like candy this year.

I totally agree. I guess the main thing is that the stats blokes stay consistent.

428 with J-Trbo to play so I need a 72 out of him.
Ironically I chose Munster (vc) over SJ due to SJ's injury risk haha.

Certainly up there; looking at the match up tonight I see no reason for that to change unfortunately either. I must say I have enjoyed watching te Titans this year though, they have been diabolical the last few seasons and were not expected to do anything this year either.Revraiser wrote:Mornin all. If SJ broke 9 tackles yesterday then what the hell were the stats people doing when they counted Teddy's TB's the other week. They're just conspiring to keep us Teddy owners down

Really? He won Maroons player of the series last year, Parker was and still is playing as good as any Lock in the game. As far as I am concerned he's probably retiring to ease cap pressure because he still looked like he had another 1-2 years left in him.

just shows that TB's is such a bs stat which doesn't tell you anything about the player. Players like Teddy and Fifita just push off players and start running backwards, how does that help the team?

Corey Parker has been the nucleus of my team for many years and served me well over this time and now I have this sense of guilt for not having him in my team in his farewell year. Thank you CP13 for the years of service you have given the Humble Hero's

Same thought when he ended up with 9. As an owner of both will be interesting to see how they are both scored in the net few rounds. I reckon they might have copped a few emails over Ted last week.Johnny B Goode wrote:If SJ broke 9 tackles yesterday then what the hell were the stats people doing when they counted Teddy's TB's the other week.
