Pretty much every study done on the issue shows the effect is accumulative as the season goes on. This story explains it pretty well with a 15 year NFL study.

That article is hardly a peer reviewed study mate ... and its more about sleep than flying.

That article just says studies conducted might be flawed and more research is needed. It was published in pubmed in 1999. There have been numerous studies in the 17 years since then.

so studies are flawed and inconclusive.
More than happy to have a look at some of these studies mate, its an interesting topic.

I too have read a lot of articles on the topic, but they are mostly just opinion, not actual peer reviewed journals or what ever

Ok - so did the bronco's do the wrong thing by letting Ash Taylor go and keeping Hunt?
Taylor has had a heaps better year and in a worse team IMO.

I don't think so personally.  Hunt's had a pretty average last couple of months but so has Milford and most of the team.

it's possible, but do you really think there was any other choice? Milford and Hunt were one of the best halves pairings in the league last season, i can only think of Morgan & Thurston that could have made the case for being better, there is absolutely zero way they were going to turf Hunt when all they had to go on with Taylor was potential, seems like the classic scenario of hindsight being 20/20, anybody with that decision in front of them makes the same choice.

Yeah agree with Surmo there, Hunt and Milf were two of the best players all year last year.

Hunt has dropped in confidence this year and Milf hasn't looked half the player because of it.

Strange thing with the dip in confidence was that we all expected it at the start of the year, but he came out of the blocks very quick.

I reckon milf - besides that 6 week or so dip in form - has been unreal, totally outshone Hunt. Even compared to last year hunt has been down on form.

Yeah sure, hindsight is brilliant, and they would have been mad to let go of a top 5 halfback for an unproven rookie.

Jeez the rookie has had a fucking good year tho, without the international forward pack infront of him too

No one mentioned Jack Reed has declared his retirement.

Sad to see him go, but he wasn't around this season so it isn't something that is going to be affecting our roster that much. He was a great for our defence.

Taylor has had a good year but it's hard to see how he has had a better year than BHunt.

More a case of judgement being slightly affected by our mid season slump (which will be long forgotten if we continue our roll on).
That and lower expectations for Taylor - who fully deserves a lot of the praise he's been getting mind you.

Our halves have copped a lot of flack during the slump but as I said at the time our forwards not rolling forward and aiming up in defence was our biggest issue, not Milf and Hunt.

It's no surprise to me that since the forwards (McGuire in particular) have been hitting their straps, all of a sudden Milf and BHunt start looking like guns again.

Bit of a surprise really - didn't know he's shoulder was that bad.

Always been a pretty under-rated player IMO.

Crucial in shoring up our defence and I was even throwing it his name out there at the end of last year as a bit of a smoky for the captaincy, based off watching the lads train and his clear influence on blokes like Milf and BHunt.

A shoulder injury has ruled Tom Opacic out of the Brisbane Broncos' NRL elimination final against the Gold Coast Titans.

You cruel bastard......and so much for striving for that coveted 'Softcock of the Year' award.

Next thing you'll be suggesting Steve Michaels as a potential replacement for poor old Jack Reed!
