I'm keeping Hunt. He'll pull out some big numbers over the next few weeks I reckon.

Thanks dude. I knew that was the case, just doubting myself over all the hype.
Seriously though, I don't think that there is any reason that Hayne can't wait til next week.
I might wait till next week, but it's nice to have him tentatively in the team!
All aboard the Hayne train

If I bring Hayne in, it will be for Latrell Mitchell.
Will use up all my war chest, but I wouldn't trade out one of my guns for a punt on a guys who hasn't played for 2 years.

I think Hayne for Mitchell is a good trade.

Thanks all, sensible advice. A weeks wait for me as well before the hayne train comes round again.
Agree with Mitchell to hayne too. If I had the cash to trade someone else to hayne I would.

In rd 20 I scored 1041 and was ranked 89 for the round. Rd 21 I scored 1042 and was ranked 1049 for the round. That is insane and most of the top 100 are hitting the ton as well. I'm 121 overall and a top 100 finish would be awesome.
If I was inside the top 100 maybe I would be more cautious and if hayne guns it he will appear in the top teams anyway but bhunt is my likely trade target and with only 49k this is the week to do it. On the other hand waiting a week does make a lot of sense though.
Happy to hear any other thoughts?
Its going to be pretty hard to make significant ground at the top from this point. Everyone in the top 1000 has got a killer team setup and will hit big scores week to week.
Honestly, the best way to make ground is hope a high ownership gun someone injured/suspended - and you either don't have that player, or have the trades to compensate.
Shaun Johnson, Andrew Fifita and Iosia Soliola all missed the last 5+ rounds through injury, and they had massive ownership amongst the top teams. And other high scorers like Lichaa, Peats, Bodene, Inglis, Tolman all missed multiple games in the run home.
If that sort of thing happens again, then guaranteed there will be high ranked teams with no trades and minimal depth who will slide. Will be easier to climb rankings that way over getting in some guy who averages 5 points a round better than his replacement.
For Hayne to be a winning move, I think he'd have to hit 60s from the start. You need to be scoring better than the guys with some combo of Teddy/Mansour/Munster/Walker.
For schmucks like me ranked in the 2000s its possibly worth a punt, but I doubt anyone with a serious chance of winning it is bringing Hayne into their 17 this week.

atm Hayne has been picked by 0 teams. Just goes to show you that all the casuals have given up, people are running out of trades & also that people are cautious & maybe want to wait a week. I have 1 trade left which at this stage of the season is quite remarkable & the only player I would sell to get Hayne would be ET. I just know however if I did sell ET then ET would score 60+, Hayne would score low & 1 of my existing players would get injured haha.

I'm questioning myself. ET or Carty for DeBelin? Pretty set on ET I think.

Actually, that just goes to show that the ownership numbers are not updated in real time.
I can 100% guarantee there are more than 0 teams with Hayne in them.

That's right. One of my workmates put him in about 2 hours ago, I watched her do it.

Good point mate. I never thought of that. When I saw 0 purchases I was surprised.

Thanks bro. I've had Carty from the start and even though he was a rollercoaster the first half of the season, he's grown on me and I actually don't mind watching him play now. Hasn't really let us down either on a whole.

Frustrating that the Titans don't play before the Sea Eagles...
That would lessen the risk of my Jtrbo to Hayne trade...
I might wait a week, assuming Hayne will only get limited minutes,
even so I'll leave him in my team overnight

Yeah Carty will always play 80 & ET won't. Carty can score 60+ just on base stats whereas ET needs to get a try assist or a try to score 50+. Plus if Halatau goes down injured in a game, ET will go to hooker or even start there. Plus the coach of Wests is a dick who will ruin ET's fantasy prospects.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 47
Over the last couple of years Hayne has been conditioned to be a nfl player which is power/strength & speed in short bursts during a game. It's a different type of aerobic fitness. Even when he played in the 7's Hayne looked totally spent fitness wise. Unless he's been doing intense league aerobic fitness over the last 2-3 months I think he'll initially struggle to even last a game especially at f/b where you have to be extremely fit.
