I can't see him being able to play 80 at fullback. In saying that he's been doing sevens training which is crazy for aerobic fitness for just as long as an NRL preseason. If he'd come back in December and done a preseason not many people would be questioning his fitness.White Lightning wrote:Over the last couple of years Hayne has been conditioned to be a nfl player which is power/strength & speed in short bursts during a game. It's a different type of aerobic fitness. Even when he played in the 7's Hayne looked totally spent fitness wise. Unless he's been doing intense league aerobic fitness over the last 2-3 months I think he'll initially struggle to even last a game especially at f/b where you have to be extremely fit.

Its going to be pretty hard to make significant ground at the top from this point. Everyone in the top 1000 has got a killer team setup and will hit big scores week to week.
Honestly, the best way to make ground is hope a high ownership gun someone injured/suspended - and you either don't have that player, or have the trades to compensate.
Shaun Johnson, Andrew Fifita and Iosia Soliola all missed the last 5+ rounds through injury, and they had massive ownership amongst the top teams. And other high scorers like Lichaa, Peats, Bodene, Inglis, Tolman all missed multiple games in the run home.
If that sort of thing happens again, then guaranteed there will be high ranked teams with no trades and minimal depth who will slide. Will be easier to climb rankings that way over getting in some guy who averages 5 points a round better than his replacement.
For Hayne to be a winning move, I think he'd have to hit 60s from the start. You need to be scoring better than the guys with some combo of Teddy/Mansour/Munster/Walker.
For schmucks like me ranked in the 2000s its possibly worth a punt, but I doubt anyone with a serious chance of winning it is bringing Hayne into their 17 this week.
I hear what you are saying about making up ground. Last couple of years injuries to gun players rewarded people who kept trades up their sleeve. This season it seems like 1 or 2 trades was enough to survive after the byes if you had your team set. In saying that though still a month to go!

Still going to save the Hayne fellatio til he's actually played a game. Unless he doubles his BE he won't be out of reach price wise

Just saw his price.... Nah no thanks. Rather take a punt on Teddy or Rapa if I was going down that route.

So like in regards to the whole what's a trade worth in the extra points you'll get per round is there a formula to that?
Looking at Rein to J Friend on season form that's 12 points a round and 19 points for last 3 round average. Around 60 extra points to end the season going by averages.
Milf to Johnson well on season form that's 11 points but last 3/5 rounds is closer to 28-32. That's as much as 160 extra points I could be getting. Is the potential worth my last 2 trades though? Oh decisions, decisions

Honestly, Hayne wont even play this week.
I don't think he will anyway, if he does it'll be from the bench.

My formula is if a player is going to likely score more points than the other then that's worth the trade lol hence why I'm not waiting on Hunt any longer when I know Merrin is going to outscore him. Then again I will still have trades left so it's an easier decision for me

Of course. If he sneezed in the direction of a ref or threw a water bottle then I could see a reason to crack down as you've gotta focus on the important issues!

I really think that Hayne will be replacing Cullen on the bench and Peatsy will be playing the 80

No trades left and Johnson gets an injury that takes him out for three weeks?Johnny B Goode wrote:

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 47
Saw Neil Henry interviewed on NRL 360 and he said he wasn't sure where he'll play as yet but he will most likely be in the 17 this weekend provided everything goes well. He trains with them from tomorrow for the first time. He was sort of suggesting though that he may use him from the bench, so I think that's what will happen.
