Well that's good news for the forum, cheers all.  I have had 3 messages in the last 24 hours saying "the site did not send any information" straight after hitting the post button.

I disagree. Soccer is the only sport I follow as closely as I do league, and the referees make just as many mistakes there. And a bad mistake in soccer is more likely to effect the outcome of the game than in league. But, on the whole, soccer fans aren't precious little bitches who demand sackings every time something goes against them.

It seems like we change our rules and interpretations 2 or 3 times a year, mostly in response to fan/media outrage. Which just fuels the outrage, as people have genuine belief they can change things.
The rugby league community works itself into a lather over every mistake at any level and claims that the very fabric of the game is in doubt. And it becomes self fulfilling. If you are looking for errors to get enraged over, you'll find them in any endeavour. And league fans are now specialists at getting enraged.

Honestly, 90% of the "solutions" to the bunker involve nothing more than going back to what we've done in the past. Only we hated that too which is why we don't do it any more.

I'll tell you what we can do to fix the bunker/refs/judiciary. Absolutely nothing. Because whatever we replace them with, everyone will think is fucking terrible within 2 months.

Collectively, league fans just need to go to bunnings, buy a big bag of cement, and harden the fuck up.

I for one am very happy with consistency of the rules in football. Let's ya concentrate on other things, like transfer season

Nice post. I think I'd go a step further and say the Australian media (and the people to some extent) are quick to knee-jerk to anything. It's like when a crocodile kills someone, then there is "why don't we cull the crocs", but that was tried before and that was stopped. Not that I have much of a clue how things are overseas, but this is just a peeve of mine that I have with the media.

I think the refs are fine. Well, how do you improve officiating? I think there's been steps to improve the rules of the game, and that helps the refs out. But there'll be bad calls made here and there, and you'll just have to swallow them.

With that being said I will get frustrated when it's my team copping the bad calls, but I need to vent somehow Smile

I agree with everything Milch said.

However, one thing I noticed last night. Checcin talking to Beau Scott like he was a dog, not a bad person like a literal dog, is an absolute no go. Disgusting attitude from a referee, especially considering it was two minutes into the game. He should be dropped to reserve grade on that attitude alone.

No Ennis for Sharks today and so they're going with a bench hooker. More minutes for the forwards I guess?
