If your going to talk about things that are totally unrelated to the threads they are being posted in why not do it here where you can make a difference?

This doesn't belong in this thread, but fuck it, I just want to boost the page count
Fox Sports fantasy A-League opened today. They make Fanhub look generous with their prizes, because for the 2nd year in a row, they aren't actually offering any.
And to make it worse, this is in their T&Cs
So basically, if you win. You get no actual prize. Except Fox can force you to come and do an interview, then sell the output of that interview to anyone, for any reason, whenever they want.
Not only that, but in the rules for H2H comp scoring
So you become a "winner" just by winning a H2H match.
And once you are a winner, Fox has the rights to sell your image.
There are no other prizes for winning.
Now its extremely unlikely Fox is going to go to the effort of getting peoples images just to sell for less than it would cost to collect them. But if you were a conspiracy theorist or uber concerned about privacy, its not a great comp to enter, as you are better off if you don't win anything

13. By entering the Promotion, each winner agrees that:
a. if requested by the Promoter, the winner will:
i. provide comments about the Promotion and/or a photograph or audio-visual clip of themselves; and
ii. participate in a promotional shoot in connection with the Promotion;
b. the Promoter may use the winner's name, image, comments, photographs or clips (Materials) for publicity and promotional purposes in any form of media, without reference or compensation to the winner or any other person;
c. the Promoter may use, reproduce, edit and communicate to the public the Materials at any time in any form of media;
d. the Promoter may license, authorise or otherwise transfer the rights in the Materials to others to do the same;
So basically, if you win. You get no actual prize. Except Fox can force you to come and do an interview, then sell the output of that interview to anyone, for any reason, whenever they want.

In each Fantasy Round, the participant's Fantasy team will play against another participant's Fantasy team in the same league, with the winner being the participant whose Fantasy team scored the most Fantasy points for that Fantasy Round.
So you become a "winner" just by winning a H2H match.

I have zero interest in the A-league (until the 'nix start going OK) but I kinda want to join this and try and be a "winner" so when they track me down for an interview I can act like a complete bogan, waste there time, swear lots and talk about flares and basically fuck with them as much as possib...... nevermind, even writing this has been too much effort.

Initially I read Clause 13(a)(i) and figured, well that's OK because I could just bag the shit out of the competition......but the bastards have thought ahead and included a clause giving them the right to edit your response!!

Haha, I actually still miss him. Not like a we miss OzNutt cos he was a champion bloke missing, more like a "when you break your arm skate boarding and it fucking hurts for a week and cunts fucked to sleep on for 5 weeks but then you miss the sympathy when it's healed" kind of missing.Oz Sport Mad wrote:iSIs wrote:The Greg Inglis is strong in this thread.

I saw your calculated estimate of $413k
surely they can't charge that kind of money for a player who only played once?

They've done it before. He'll get a 27% discount for only playing 1 game, but otherwise that's the only concession.
Damien Cook played 3 games in 2015, averaged over 60 and was priced accordingly. Luke Brooks got a crazy high price in 2015 due to his big score in his only game in 2014
