I feel like being a bit risky this year and trying something different so might go no Cam Smith.

My mate hates him, absolutely hates him and when he was talking about him I'd watch him play and he wasn't wrong. He would always pass to the player who wasn't running onto the ball or would go the wrong option more than the right one. He's one of those hooker that make himself look good but he is rubbish for attack
I couldn't agree with you and your mate more - Fantasy points blind us to some players, but Rein was terrible for the Dragons. Consistently took the wrong option and seemed to take his crapness up a notch when the dragons were attacking. They don't do a lot right with recruitment, but not giving Rein big $$$ was one thing they got right. Now if the could only decide on which 4 of their 7 backrowers to keep and sign a half and 5/8 they would go alright.

Looks like a NBA2K create-a-player model when you start off. Generic as they come.

I was wondering why Surgess was so popular again this year until I looked at the bye schedules. Well I guess he's back on the must have list, will probably start with him if JDB can't make Round 1.

OK. Caution to the wind this year. Fuck it.
Final team before TLT
McCullough, King(rank)
Gurgess, McGuire, DSaf, Scrub
Surgess, Buhrer, Merrin, JKen, Scrub, Scrub
Pearce, Lamb, Elgey, Scrub
SMat, Idris, RJennings/Scott
Teddy, Hayne, RTS, Sio, Ponga.
4th reserve will be one of the other rough ones. Hoping they can make enough money to upgrade them to someone decent and let the top heavy forward pack carry my score.

Surgess would be good enough. Teddy if I feel lucky.

Thoughts on Brodie Croft? You would think Slater will miss some game time and Croft looks brilliant in the same parts we've had

Will be a lock in my squad as the 3rd hlf if he gets the starting gig. I don't particularly like Elgey or Lamb
Speaking of halves i think the ones with great kicking games will score well in the opening few rounds due to the extreme heat conditions and wanting to kick the ball a lot to run the opposition off their feet. Think Cleary, Arey or Pearce.

Anyone considering D. Walker. Apparently he had a blinder last night & was goalkicking.

Yes once it was said he'd stick to CTR. Goal kicking would be a bonus

Agree with all you put except for signing a 5/8. No problem with Widdop who is a top quality half but just needs someone next to him with more traditional halfback skills to direct the team up and down the field

One thing you have to remember, is that when a coach 'confirms' a player will play in a certain position. It is not a legally binding statement
Dylan Walker was confirmed as five-eighth last year, lasted 8 weeks and then started playing musical chairs.
You'd think in his specific case he'll be safe from the halves with Blake Green and Jackson Hastings/Apisai Koroisau around.
But a few other players I am concerned that they'll last in their new fantasy favourable positions.
No one believes Aubusson will stay 2nd row all season but for other players a trial team list is a season song commitment

I'll definitely be using him. With his price and bye coverage, I have to.
Apparently he was strong last night in his trial and we'll learn a lot more next week in the Charity Shield.
