Disregarding byes, who's the better pick.
Mannering or Taumalolo?
Only have room for one.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 43
how about this asepeli fine player on the dogs bench instead of aubs? i have no idea what his role is but he has ctr status.
i reckon he might fill in for a stint in the backrow and perhaps score similarly to aubs in the centres 15-25?
play him for this game and wait till aubs drops in price then do moga to aubs in rnd 16.
might be a waste of a trade as i can go straight to aubs...
but he is a good cashout option in the ctrs for talakai

On Ofahengaue - TPJ and Arrow were both ahead of him before they got injured. Both may/or may not make returns from injury this week.
Purely football i think its ridiculous that niko isnt starting in the halves this week. Im hoping for a late change cos i dont really get the decsion to start benji

As a Cook owner it's tempting to sell him but I'll wait until round 13. I know it's unwise to make decisions on future unlikely scenarios but there's also the possibility that Peats gets injured in origin meaning Farah plays origin 2 as Peats has a injury prone historically. If Peats gets through origin unscathed I'll sell Cook round 13 but if Peats gets injured I'll keep.

Walker that means both will miss round 13 & I'll struggle to knock out a 17. Since I'm keeping Slater as well & would prefer to keep Fifita I might pass on Cody. What do you think. Cheers.
In my situation I really want Calker but I should have 17 this round so might wait till 14.
With Smith, I just realised it is the Knights on Friday night in Melbourne-if Cam is ever going to be rested you would think it s this game. Allthough something tells me we have thought that before based on "lesser" opposition and he played 80, it might have even been the Knights or Roosters last year?

On a positive note he has a three round average of 54 at Mt Smart stadium.

Had him at centre for a cash out last year. Came off the bench and scored about 15 from memory which was all I was expecting. Wouldn't expect any more than that but did the job as a bottom priced cash out and scored a few points.

@nrlphysio
Nathan Brown seemingly cleared of rib fracture, not on @TheParraEels injury report and named for this weekend
eels injury report
Michael Jennings - Round 16 - quad
could mean will smith comes into the halves with gutho into the centres. more hopeful of a rookie centre filling in.
just noticed takairangi has returned and they updated the squad.

same here, im selling cook next week and bringing in smith jr as i dont think cam backs up after origin against the knights.it may be a long shot but im planning to only have one gun hooker for the rest of the year in cam and stack my frf/2rf with guns. cam to farah this week cook to smith jr next
is this the dumbest shit you'v ever heard of?

Re the origin players backing up. Every year we surmise they'll get rested or play reduced minutes but it doesn't happen because they all want to play. I've also heard some of them say that they actually prefer to play as close to after origin because their bodies feel ok but the longer the game is after origin they start to feel their bumps & bruises. So they feel fine if the game is on a Friday but they feel a bit worse if their game is on a Sunday.

Seems like an alright strat. You run the risk of struggling if Smith ever misses a round, but Smith is insanely fit and difficult to injure (I read something on the NRL subreddit that Cam Smith has played about 95% of all the possible games he could have played in his career).
If you think there is more to be gained in stacking the forwards, do it.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 43
Just had a look at Friend vs Smith vs Farah
Friend plays 6 games at a conservative average of 50 = 300 (Price goes up approximately 30k)
Smith plays 4 games at a conservative average of 60 =240 (Price drops approximately 10k)
Farah plays 6 games at a conservative average of 45 = 270 (Price goes up approximately 70k)
What you are gambling on is Smith being rested or Friend increasing workload or ideally both to make a trade back later. This may net you a minimum of 60 points overall (Though points are probably worth more in tough bye rounds)
When Friend was killing it (first half of last year) there was no Pearce or Cordner and to be honest the Roosters sucked so his defensive workload was big.
Farah is a higher risk as no one knows his minutes, but more reward as his price and BE is low.
He will probably give an extra 30 points overall over Smith but Madge could just as easy give Cook more time to keep him happy.
With no Cook then he would be a definite go, but he could jump in at anytime or even start =hence the risk.
The potential of Farah or Friend is they can and have score 60's which would be great, but ideally you would want this to happen to make these trades great ones.
As I write this, I think to myself, that if it costs me 2 trades to trade Smith (in and out) and I am low on trades then what can i do?
How can I get a similar reward for 1 less trade with less risk.
That would be to trade Abbey to Nu Brown via DPP
Gets me at least 60 points over 2 bye rounds, 30k in bank and no risk while costing me 1 trade.
Brown is a more than capable half, can break a tackle and will play 80 mins so no worries about a 10 minute bench cameo like a cheap forward might do
Moral of the story if you don't have a full 25 players and some failed cows, perhaps it isn't stupid to trade sideways to a player with good byes rather than trade a gun in/out
