How many weeks for Myles eye gouge on Hayne? 4-8?

Naa it is where they go digging through the record book for the last time NSW won in QLD in the first game of the series.

Well done NSW. Lucky to be awarded the try before halftime and had plenty of other calls go their way, but hard to say the score didn't reflect how the game went.

Solid win. The NSW guys with question marks seemingly went ok. Peats will be there for a decade now. Teddy was awesome, should be MOTM, but Fifita (who I wouldn't begrudge) has also finally had a huge game and will get the nod. Not at all surprise that or overall forward pack contribution was the best it has been in years without Gallen demanding every possession.

Still think Fifita will be MOTM but Tedesco would also be a deserving winner. Hats off to QLD for never giving up however NSW were the better team tonight. Glad NSW picked Cordner as the new Captain, had another great game tonight.

You're right plenty of calls their way and plenty of high tackles not pulled up but ultimately they played pretty impressively even with the two softest props in the game

Even if he gets zero weeks, there is no way they can stick with him after that performance. Wallace has to come in for Qld.

There'll probably be no charges. Unlike normal matches where Chambers would get charged for high contact on Pearce, Klemmers high tackle on Gillett, and Cordner's chicken wing on Myles.

Calls both ways, NSW might have got the better of a few, but it certainly wasn't a factor in the result as you say. One of the best reffed Origins in a number of years.

Great game from NSW. Every player aimed up for once and really took it to QLD. In saying that QLD didn't play bad or anything just those key plays NSW made the right call or the luck went their way for the 1st time in a long time

Like when Smith finally got the measure of Buderus, have we seen a changing of the Hooker guard in this game. I know he is a loooong way of the heights of Smith, and Smith is certainly still the best hooker in the game, but is this the start of the shift?

Re: State of Origin 2017 Series
I've gotta say, we can't get carried away here as NSW fans, Thurston to come back for Milf, surely slater to come back with Boyd back to wing and O'Neill gone, with Gagai to centre. Wallace in for Myles.
What other changes for Qld? probs not many? They will be MUCH better in game two.

My biggest concern is that if JT is fit for game 2 he will exploit Hayne's defense at center and it will be 1-1 going into the 3rd at Suncorp.

Whitewash I reckon, far and away the better side, more attacking intent, better in defence
Smith was almsot non existent tonight, never seen him so quiet, Can't see JT bridging the gap shown tonight enough
Come on the Blues

Re: State of Origin 2017 Series
The back 5 for NSW was excellent, all those with ?? stepped up. Can't see us making any changes for game 2, even if TTurbo is fit.
Klemmer massive from the bench. JTurbo good on debut. Graham just class. Jackson good even as the weakest link with zero missed tackles. Cordner, and Frizell solid as.

Re: State of Origin 2017 Series
The team that loses game 1 always plays more desperately in game 2. JT for Milf is the obvious one, but I don't think we need too many changes. Either Slater or Holmes comes in for O'Neill. I'd actually drop Guerra before Myles, especially if Guerra is dropped for the Roosters. We can make wholesale changes if we lose next game.
NSW just had to win tonight or it would have been a disaster for them psychologically. If they lost with Queensland not having JT, Inglis, Scott, Slater, and losing Parker from last year. If they lost tonight no way would they feel they'd be able to win the last 2. The challenge for them now is to be as desperate next game.

Fifita MOTM. Fantastic. On an even better note he looks in a great headspace at the moment which is clearly reflected in his footy. Peats has locked in his spot barring injury for the next few years. Good game!
Bring on game 2!

Re: State of Origin 2017 Series
Unless there's injury, no way do NSW change the team. Hard to say the Queensland players played bad, just not their game tonight. O'Neill and Hayne both attempted to make the other look great in attack by having shit defence.
Having seen Gagai play 4 Origin games, all of them fantastically, he should have a wing spot in the test team at the end of the year. He's been excellent on club footy all year, you wonder how he'd go in a decent team at club level.
