How exactly are the Blues understrength? They've literally named an unchanged 17 for every game and have their first choice for each position available. QLD on the other hand are missing the first string Fullback, Centre, Prop, Halfback.

NSW are favorites, paying $1.80, and rightly so. Theyve earned it by being able to field an unchanged lineup and outscoring QLD so far this series.

Having said that. We'll still win. 8 in a row. Never forget it cunce.

Some poetic licence was used. Move Cooper and Gillett to the 2nd row, Morgan to the centers and Hunt & Glasby to the bench and that was the announcement

Just to throw my 2c in

Leicester City winning the PL title is arguably the biggest upset/underdog achievement in the history of sports, and may well be for the remainder our time on earth.

Comparing that to NSW beating QLD is ridiculous.

You're digging a hole my friend. Leicester finished 14th and were awful the year before they won the title.

The Bulldogs were outsiders in every game they played in the finals series and won every game away from home. They were paying $3 in the grand final. Now I know betting odds aren't the be all and end all because it goes by weight of money not what book makers think. The Dogs finished 7th that year, no team in over a decade won from outside the top 4. Huge upset in every game they played.

It'll be an upset to beat QLD in QLD twice in the one series but it's not that level of impossible.

Final 10 games = 7 wins, 2 losses 1 Draw The form team I. The final 10 week. Like I said, they finished the season season well, and the year they won they played well throughout the season. Sure the bookies had them at long odds but anyone who knows football and watched the back end of that season they finished 14th could see they were a team on the up. So not sure how I've dug myself a hole there.

Re the Bulldogs, they had momentum and form at the back end of the season. Great achievement no doubt, sure they money was against them but as with NSW v Qld, I'm not talking bookie odds, I'm talking about sporting knowledge and blind Freddie could see they were in top form late in the season and the team playing the best type of finals footy. I accept based on the odds, NSW beating Qld won't be even remotely an upset due to the absurdity of punters and where they Place their money, but trust me, Qld in terms of purely a contest, with no money involved, should win this game at home in a decider with the class they possess in the spine and across the field comfortably.

No, re my call of biggest since 2014, ok, you guys got me, I was stirring there a bit as we all know both sides like to play the underdog, so, even though I haven't seen an example they may be bigger than 2014, I accept it is possible it might not be the biggest, just nobody has provided a bigger axamp,e as yet Very Happy

Only if you are not a student of football, are blind to form and trust the bookies. Deadset, did nobody watch the back end of the previous year??? Evidently not. Why I am surrounded by gumbies?

Mate I follow the EPL religiously so don't think you are talking to someone who only reads the headlines.

You can ignore bookies as much as you like, but at the end of the day they were offering 5000/1. Take that in for a minute. Place a $1 bet to get a return of $5000. They were giving the team absolutely no chance in the world and for good reason.

You're talking about a team, a squad, a club, worth a fraction the amount of the heavyweights in the league. A team that not too long ago was playing in lower tiers of English football. Full of players that many didn't know or had ever heard of. Did you know who N'Golo Kante was? Because I didn't, and he is fast becoming the best defensive midfielder in the world.

Mahrez? To score that many goals in a PL you're headed into elite status.

The season they won the league they were coming first at Christmas. Rewind 12 months earlier and they were battling relegation.

Look at the performances from this season - sure, Kante was a huge loss, but there's no denying that they were brought back down to earth. They were almost dragged into another relegation dogfight.

They could have had all the form in the world, that doesn't take away from the fact that they are severely disadvantaged, much like many other teams in the PL, when you start comparing to the heavyweights.

There is a reason why you see the same 5-6 teams at the top every season.

In short - there is absolutely no denying how big of an upset it was when Leicester city won the PL.

Interesting side note, 6 of the 8 players banned from the QLD Origin series last year have played in this series: Munster, Milf, Hunt, Napa, Wallace & Holmes.

I disagree on the Leicester thing, I wasn't that surprised, but that's just me I guess, I watched them finish the year before and thought they'd compete for top 4 the following year, I had no idea what they were paying as I don't bet on Football ever, but hey, maybe I've got blinkers that allow me to focus and see things others don't, go figure.

Maybe we need to redefine "upset". I don't classify a team winning a first past the post as an upset. Who did they upset, which single team got upset?  I see an upset as one team beating another team or person v person in a single contest or series.

I accept 100% @ 5000/1, Leicester was the biggest long shot to win a sporting contest that I can recall, no ifs buts or maybe there, but I don't personally classify it as an "upset" in the traditional sense of the word.

So a team paying $5000/1 to win a competition that requires 38 weeks of play isn't an "upset" but a team paying $1.80 to beat a team missing more talent through injury then any team in history is an upset?

    Right.

The fixture when the dream became reality.

They travelled to the Etihad to face Manchester City, and won 1-3.

Throughout the season they won/drew games against the likes of Man City, Man Utd, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, and only lost to Arsenal in the return fixture because of a red card they received in the second half.

The knocked off all of them to get to the title.

    Was Wallace banned too?

    It is interesting.
Every one of them besides possibly Napa is/was there because of injury, but still, interesting none the less.
