You're digging a hole my friend. Leicester finished 14th and were awful the year before they won the title.
The Bulldogs were outsiders in every game they played in the finals series and won every game away from home. They were paying $3 in the grand final. Now I know betting odds aren't the be all and end all because it goes by weight of money not what book makers think. The Dogs finished 7th that year, no team in over a decade won from outside the top 4. Huge upset in every game they played.
It'll be an upset to beat QLD in QLD twice in the one series but it's not that level of impossible.

How exactly are the Blues understrength? They've literally named an unchanged 17 for every game and have their first choice for each position available. QLD on the other hand are missing the first string Fullback, Centre, Prop, Halfback.
NSW are favorites, paying $1.80, and rightly so. Theyve earned it by being able to field an unchanged lineup and outscoring QLD so far this series.
Having said that. We'll still win. 8 in a row. Never forget it cunce.

Leicester City winning the PL title is arguably the biggest upset/underdog achievement in the history of sports, and may well be for the remainder our time on earth.
Comparing that to NSW beating QLD is ridiculous.

Only if you are not a student of football, are blind to form and trust the bookies. Deadset, did nobody watch the back end of the previous year??? Evidently not. Why I am surrounded by gumbies?
Ice wrote:Maybe we need to redefine "upset". I don't classify a team winning a first past the post as an upset. Who did they upset, which single team got upset? I see an upset as one team beating another team or person v person in a single contest or series.
I accept 100% @ 5000/1, Leicester was the biggest long shot to win a sporting contest that I can recall, no ifs buts or maybe there, but I don't personally classify it as an "upset" in the traditional sense of the word.

Was Wallace banned too?Dip wrote:Interesting side note, 6 of the 8 players banned from the QLD Origin series last year have played in this series: Munster, Milf, Hunt, Napa, Wallace & Holmes.
Yeah. Edrick Lee & Chris Grevsmuhl were the other 2.Pieman wrote:

It is interesting.
Every one of them besides possibly Napa is/was there because of injury, but still, interesting none the less.
