The way I see it, Teddy only scored 5 tries last year. Michael Gordon scored 7, but he's not in the same caliber anymore.

Roosters will have great field position, teams will struggle against the Roosters and be kicking long allowing plenty of opportunities for kick returns which equals RM and TB's.

Plenty of times the Tigers would be camped in their own half under pressure, defending their line or behind their posts (wasting time). I just feel he could explode early on and be out of reach otherwise.

The comparison I draw is the opposite of Tuivasa Sheck going from the Roosters (great team) to the Warriors (limited opportunities).

I think the theory is teddy in a dominate team will get plenty of opportunities for attacking stats to go along with his standard tbs. If you dont pick him and he pulls out a couple of monster scores you'll be playing catch up.

Flipside is if you dont pick him in theory you should have  a stronger pack and if your cheaper wfb can jag a couple of tries early then you will be away laughing

My general rule was to start the year with cheapies, and to bank the cash so I can afford players like Teddy/Smith at a later date. But I burnt way to many trades trying to make that happen. This year im going set and forget.

TBs are TBs and he will still get plenty of them, will probably have more chance to run the ball back with plenty of space as well when the roosters pack pins teams deep often. He’s the best WFB in the game and a rare fantasy player who can get near the tonne. I’ve learnt my lessons not getting Ted in early and being conservative in the backs

Yeah, I've learnt my lesson for sure too. The guy is just a dominant and dangerous player. Everytime he gets the ball there's trouble. I think he was scoring around 60 a game at the back end of the season with limited opportunities and tries. In a team like the Roosters who knows what he is capable of.

CWalker resigned with Souths for another 2 years. If he's happy now he could go back to actually playing good and could be a viable fantasy option again. Especially with the glass man out every second game.

I am torn on Teddy too.

Roosters will not rely on him like the Tigers did, so probably see less ball in the attacking 20.
Should see more tries, but he scored more tries in 2016 than 2017 age averaged about the same.

He is a set and forget season keeper, so cash spend trades elsewhere.

Bigger cap, he'd be a no brainer, but money is tight this year

I’m also looking at it this way, you want Ted in your team come season end for sure so you either start with him and keep for the season or create the cash for him later! There are far more viable gun options in the 2RF and usually far more cashies become available in the 2RF/FRF during the year so easier to get onto the decent ones and ride them to guns, far rarer to get high rising cows in the WFB so getting guns in from the start in the WFB can become a decent option

VSDT now open. League code 907856 for those interested. You can make a stronger
squad, in particular, the centres. Welcome Aubbs and Inglis with Milne on the bench for once.

If you had to choose between Teddy and Rapana - which way would you go (and why)?

Mumps can knock you around as an adult. Better he caught it now then in a months time.

FRF looks like a bad position this year unless you gamble on a mid ranger jumping to gun status or Fifita/Graham/Bromwich returning to form. I will more than likely only have 3 in my 21. At this stage it's looking like Latu/Evans/Lodge
Not even sure Graham is in that group, with injuries and concussions and new team I feel it would take  Balls  to pick him off the bat.

Was it mumps or something else that knocked Merrin around a couple year ago?
