It would work better in a lower scoring position like centre or WFB wouldn't it? I mean if you decide to loop, that means subbing out one of your 13, so you don't want to be subbing out a good scorer.

As I realised since my original post, you can also loop by subbing out one of your 14-17 too, so any position works.

DPP will help for some little more flexibility though

Aha, intriguing. I'm going to put a lot of thought into this. So many options. 1. Deliberately having dead position. 2. Pick guy missing rd1 but who might play later. 3. Pick all playing players and just wait for the inevitable injury/dropped.

So just getting my head around this. Best candidates for position 18 would be a dpp, cheap, with a high ceiling (rocks and diamonds type guys would be fine for this I think), in a team that usually plays early in the round. Anything else?

Smith and Tedesco were my first two players locked in this year.

Unfortunately Ive had to say farewell to Aubs to run with Smith/Tedesco/Mannering.

Milford would be ideal, or some other broncos back

He'll only be in your NPRs if he scores poorly though. Otherwise you loop him in

I have Cartwright as my 18. I do have the money spare to put him to Watson but I think i'd prefer to keep Carty if starting

Yeah just figured this out. For example you could even have Garvey in 17. If Milf goes well he's looped in. If he has a shocker Garvey would still be a decent scorer. Gives some level of HIA insurance also.
