Every team I make with Smith in it feels absolutely horrid.

Well, you're saving 400K-500K to upgrade one or two players so it's always going to feel a little lob sided and trickier to work with. I haven't even tried to make a Smithless team yet so I might give it a go.
Funny we haven't heard anything more about that Smith/Sampson rumour from the Mole the other day lol.

The lack of decent CTR/WFB prospects is the one reason I'm moving towards no Smith. I don't want to be part of the possibly long list of people puttin out fires down there.

Word from some guy with Manly inside knowledge on NRLSUPERCOACHTALK website is that Api is front runner for GK duties. If this is true and the fact its known DCE struggles without a boss half next to him kind of makes me go away from DCE. Leaning more and more to a Watson and Cartwright halves combo and hopefully ride a couple of good scores to a Cleary/SJ/Pearce.

Mole just said rugby league was about to get another black eye. People then came up with the Smith rumour. People have gone to the trouble of making what looks like a screenshot of the moles twitter account with the smith rumour and have posted it on FB league pages.

Oh wow, that's full on. Even though he's a bit of a twat that's quite a low blow.

I feel DCE will just end up running around in circles with little direction as you said without a solid halves partner. I could be wrong though.
I can't seem to shake my Watson Carty halves at the moment. Only other one is find some more coin for Croft.

Of course there's been no more word on the Smith rumour as no media outlet wants to go near it due to the Smith royalty factor. If it was Cartwright having an affair with Sampson it would be a different story. We all know rugby league royalty gets treated differently than the surfs e'g. Andrew Johns v Tim Simona. One admits using ecstasy when playing origin & is put on a pedestal while the other admits using cocaine & is driven out of town/career ruined.

Sounds like comeplete bullshit then. And to be fair, that rumour sounded pretty ridiculous to begin with.

Even if Api starts out with goalkicking, he will lose if if/when Matt Wright or Jackson Hastings make first grade.
I would not take goal kicking points into consideration when picking a manly player, and treat any goals kicked as a bonus.

Yeah, halves is a tough one....I've tried sides with Watson / Carty, Watson / Croft.....and at the moment have Croft / Cronk....which I'm liking purely for the reason that it is at least different to what everyone else is doing....(or at least everyone here)

Struggling to view Watson as something other than another Keary. Eg avg 35 with a few big games here and there

When you are priced at 27, an average of 35 is not so bad.
