just watched the broncos v png replay. physical game, high intensity, but alot of errors, both teams rusty. png gave away 6 or 7 penalties for incorrect play the ball.

Lodge is going to be very good for us. took a carry every set, defense is strong. got good hands too.

Oates played the entire second half on the wing, probably where he plays in round 1 (suspected this all along).

not much else to gain from that. mcguire played the first 55 straight up then came back with about 10 or 15 to go. but we rotated the forwards quite alot so fairly meaningless.

Cheap props are annoying. I don't like Evans, NAS, AFB or many of the popular cheap options, but might end up having to take some punt on one of them anyway.

Hoping a cheapie pops up in round 1 team lists cause I'm hating the idea of running Evans. Very risky to just run 2 props then upgrade in the first few rounds when we see who is an actual option but I'm considering it

I'm leaning to running with only 2 props at the start of the season... taking the risk... keeping an eye on JBrom, Gurgess, and Evans.
There's bound to be an injury to one of the props in the early rounds that increases someone's minutes... I'll jump on that person when it happens

I for one am not. Walker could go back to goal kicking when he returns which would kill that upside.

Went to the sharks tigers trial yesterday, a couple of interesting takeaways:

Townsend was goalkicking even though I could see Holmes on for most of the game.
Thinking of bringing him in to my team considering Moylan isn't a big field kicker as well, Townsend could realistically pick up 10 points just from field and goalkicking.

There is going to be some money made somewhere in the tigers forward pack. Rochows gone bald, so took me a while to figure out who he was..but he played big minutes and at least seemed involved. Mcqueen was on the bench (was this due to a return from injury or out of favour already?)

Corey Thompson was really active. Scored a try too. With their draw and lolohea waiting in the wings he's a risky buy but something to keep in mind.

If the sharks have a quiet start to the year, moylan and or graham could be a good pick up. They looked really good together, graham put in a left foot grubber for a kick and moylan has an excellent short passing game (chn last year).

lurked the sea eagles forum earlier, they all thought croker went well with DCE and confirmed what you said, croker did alot of inplay kicking.

they are also all pulling their dicks over AFB

Just on Townsend- it's true that Moylan does not do a lot of long kicking play, but neither did Maloney. Only 70m per game more than Moylan in fact so even if Chad picks up the extra KMs it still only makes about 3 points. Really needs to be kicking goals too to be worth it IMO

yep agreed, was thinking 3-4 from KM, 4-8 from goals.

something's just dawned upon me, instead of messing around with Latu, Evans etc - I think I'm just going to go for guys like Nicholls, Kikau (Price) & Lodge (yes he's in the same price range but I trust way more in terms of security of role and minutes).

McQueen played NSW Cup last night. He is still getting fitness back from injury last year.
I think he is good value if fit but I am not convinced on fitness.

Few Tigers forwards missing last night. I wouldn't have Rochow in a full strength team but apparently he did his chances no harm. Tigers forum generally impressed with him (and Corey Thompson who on form will be fullback over Lolohea)

Also on the tigers and another potentially overlooked HLF option is Luke Brooks.

I know he can miss the odd tackle, however the stats after Mitchell Moses left last year show very consistent scoring at an average of 43 and at the moment is priced at 36.

He is widely tipped as well to play the dominant half rolle this year over Reynolds.

Anyone have any idea what kind of effect Benji Marshall will have on this? Maybe the scoring last year has just from being paired with Lolohea in the halves

They must get a group discount at the barber

Evans looks good btw... not sure if he'll get enough minutes though, Alvaro taking the bulk of mins in the 1st half

For what it's worth Dany Levi has a barber business on the side so that's that mystery solved.

    Extremely relevant information

Hmm I'm not sold on McQueen. I think yes he would have some value as he's come to a new club and if he settles in to an 80 min role he should definitely improve to a top end average of around 35. What would have me worried are Rochow and the other young Tigers forwards look decent, McQueen definitely isn't a standout.

SBW returning to the roosters this year. Probably mid-year. Something to think about (if it’s true).

How would they handle Crichton, Cordner, Aubusson and SBW in 2019? Sounds like absolute garbage to me.
