Im going to roll the dice on Thompson in my 13 if he gets the starting gig. Lolohea lurking in the wings, but he doesn't need to be there all season- just long enough to earn some coin and upgrade. I always like a fullbacks' chances over a winger/centre who can score poorly purely from lack of possession.

So I vote Maubs + Thompson

He's just not worth the opportunity cost. By picking him, you are giving up space in your team for more good players (I have Gallen and Jurbo as 2RF guns)

I do like Kata to return to some fantasy form this year, would like Harris to be on his side, failing that reckon he gets on the end of some green grubbers, if Taga doesn't get the starting CTR gig at Parra I might try and fit Aubbs and Kata in there

I think Aubbs is a safer pick than GI also so think that has helped, cheers mate

I don't care how many houses are subject to demolition because of him and his training! He'll hurt you!

I honestly think Elgy would make a good fullback. Has a decent passing game and can run the little fecker but cannot tackle to save his life. Not only can he not tackle but he makes the players around him worse as he gets in the way of someone trying a real tackle attempt

How bad can a cheap fullback for one of the spoon favourites be?

I have Thompson in my team right now - plan on picking Thompson/Katoa as a starter based on form and fixtures

I figured, but he is essentially Smith 2.0 in terms of fantasy scores and a heap of teams are choosing Smith who costs virtually the same.

Also does anyone fancy Tariq Sims? Scored fairly well off the bench last season and now he will start every week, add in the Dragons fairly average looking bench, his scores are bound to increase.

Part of the reason he's not seen much is because for his money you can get Smith. Most teams will only afford one of them and Smith is year on year the best scorer in the game.

On top of that, there is a lot of value in the 2RF position, so teams are likely to take value there and get guns in elsewhere.

I am running Thompson in the 13 with Katoa as my WFB backup in 18-21. Fullbacks can almost be exempt from team performance, they can still make plenty of run metres on kick returns, and if they are good enough, they can use that space to make the tacklebreaks too. He obviously won't hold a candle to Teddy, but I don't see why he can't make consistent 30s in a lacklustre Tigers outfit and be of solid economical value.

Not many got Pearce in their teams, is he a mistake perhaps? Or same story of Taumalolo and better value out there and beef up on other positions?

    Thanks in Advance

Pearce just did too well last year. Don't see why he won't have another great season, but I don't think he can beat his 56 average at the knights.
He raised his own bar too high IMO

I don't think I can do it. He'll get two games where they get pumped by the roosters and storm and then he'll get dropped for Lolohea. Will be the next Feeney.

At the moment I have both Liu and Taukeiaho, and Elliott and RFM. Figure that one out of each of those pairs will do well, but who knows which?
