Is Smith, Cook, Lichaa overkill? My FR is Lodge and Latu, my inkling is that Latu needs a significant upgrade at the expense of Smith.

Does anyone else think the Warriors should try and sign Tolman. They need a prop who can play big mins and is a solid defender

No way, what the warriors need is grit in leadership, someone who will add some energy to the boys when they are down. James graham is the one i'd want them to throw the cheque book at.

I've got all 3 and potentially another 2 or 3 hookers (with DPP).
So much value in hookers this year.

Can Whitehead and Merrin even get back to where Brown is currently priced at? 52?
4 games at start of season where he started on interchange (new club) then averaged 58 from then on as a starter, i think the 58 points is more indicitive of his scoring than 52 so really his $760,000 starting price tag is cheap and his 58 average when in the fulltime role is better than that of
JTurbo
Taupau
and on par with Gallen and JDB both priced at $860,000 ($100,000 more)
I think Whitehead will average in the 48-50 points/game range. He's a tackle machine (and will get good tackle numbers at lock) and has plenty of skills, but not too good of a metre-eater/tackle-breaker.
Whereas with Merrin, I genuinely believe he's going to be in that 52-55 point/game range (more towards the latter). There are so many factors as to why he scored badly last year. Horribly out of shape (for a 'star' nrl player's standard), which reduced his minutes significantly and increased his missed tackles substantially.

I might fit Thompson in somewhere. Coach obviously rates him and good chance if he doesn't retain the FB spot he'll shift to the other wing.

I'm really not happy with my 2rf. Just doesn't feel right being without one gun there. I currently have:
Harris (potential for improvement, priced at 42 with an average over 50 when playing 80, though equally likely to flop. Averaged 52 in '16)
Arrow (injury concerns, may not start)
Murray (as above?, Surgess played very well at lock in Charity shield)
I do have Cartwright on the bench....and Taupau as a DPP FRF....
I'm considering TKO and RFM instead of Arrow and Murray....I should just wait to 'squad' list Tuesday...but I do love a tinker....and wasting time at work

That was my exact starting three also in my first draft. I swapped Harris for Merrin and Arrow for RFM. I'm also considering SST for Murray if he fails to start. Looks like our thinking is pretty similar hey haha.

If you don't run with Smith, which I'm sure is being planned by some.
Who is the best captain who is also a value pick if that thing exists?
Fifita would be my main option

Murray, assuming he starts at lock. He has had some injury concerns in pre-season so just waiting to see if he is right to go come round 1.

Hell yeah. That's 1 position they have been lacking for the last 3-4 years.

Whenever I think of Tolman now, I think about the Willie Mason interview I read a while back, about when Des tried to sign him (when he was returning to league).
Willie says he sat down with Des who pulled out a huge folder of stats, and tells him that Tolman is the best prop in the league, and cites his tackle count. Willie says in the interview words to the effect of 'there's a reason he makes so many tackles', and further 'i'm proud of the fact that i only make 20 tackles a game, it means the opposition don't want to run at me'.

But Willie Mason also talked about Mark O'Meley being a 1 club man, several years after heleft the Eagles to play for the Bulldogs.

It's a strong bench for sure. My concern would be with so many cheapies in your 13 they can be hard to cover for, whereas my thoughts are having a solid 13 and the cheapies on the bench means that if couple don't fire I can just promote the next cheapie on the bench or if I have to trade it can be from any position.
