My team is so close to complete. Really just that "non-Lodge Prop" to sort out. The follow on effect of cash left over determines which two 2RFs out of Brown, Merrin and Murray I choose.

    Alvaro: Merrin + Murray
    NAS/AFB: Brown + Murray
    Latu: Brown + Merrin

I am happy with any combination of those second rowers, but the FRF choice is killing me.
I really wish we had just one more week of trials.
I would actually love to see Sam Burgess named in 13 for round 1, just so the decision is taken out of my hands Laugh 3

Anybody else got the non-Lodge Prop blues?
Who are you running with, and why?

I have my eye on a Tigers backrower who if gets the position should be great value.

Lodge is a must based off price and trial form. Settling on a second prop is doing my head in. Have gone through Fifita/Vaughan/Taupau and value like Alvaro/JBrom/AFB etc along with Kikau/Nicholls (if DPP).

Good cut price options in second row with Merrin/Whitehead/Harris/Murray/RFM/Arrow/Cartwight looking great value.

Case for value in Thurston/CWalker/Croft/Townsend/Moses/JReynolds/Watson/LCroker - not sure where to go here either. Be good if AReynolds was injured and you could go Doueihi.

If Milne isn't named it's a bit of a kick in the guts. Kennar/Thompson/Katoa the obvious choices in the back 5. Hunt and Taka could be good value.

One fullback I haven't heard mentioned much is Tom Trbojevic. Great early draw along with Teddy and Ponga could be nice?

I have Taupau as my non-Lodge prop.

Where did the love for Latu come from? Trials? He certainly did nothing last year....

I don't think that's entirely true. It's true if you are comparing Thurston, Croft, Townsend etc you can factor in another two points probably. It's unlikely to be true for other popular picks such as Watson, Cartwright, and even Cronk and Pearce are a lot further down the list of forced dropouts. Those two points are also worth considering if the comparison is not between two halves but a half and a different position depending on the make up of your bench.

Ah right fair enough. I guess I'll stand corrected but I just found a link (included below) that even the best halves barely averaged 1 forced drop out a game (2 points) so I'm not considering it as a significant factor.

Saw a predicted Broncos lineup today (Brisbane Times) that had a bench of Todd Murphy, Thaiday, TPJ and Oates.

My worry with Tommy T is that Tedesco is locked in my team, and having Tommy T in there brings in another (likely) Origin player and stacks my WFB. I've gone for Ponga instead as a safer pick to allow me to boost my 2rf (Brown, Merrin, Whitehead, RFM).

I think if you're happy to leave out Tedesco, Turbo is an excellent pick.

Mainly just his price. I don't think he will do terribly well, but as a starting prop it is hard to see him score less than the 22 he is priced at.
His biggest draw is it gets me both Brown and Merrin in my 2RF.
That said- of the three options I gave, Latu is probably the least likely I will choose.

One guy that hasn't been in my team for a while but I guess everyone has to consider is Havili.
If he gets the starting gig (without Garvey on the bench). You'd think he'd be set for at least 50 minutes? Even if he was atrocious that should mean around 30 points right? I'd probably just slip him in as my 21st man instead of Nicholls if that was the case.

    Thoughts?

Sezer supposedly hooker now, or at least on the bench hooker.

    @Saints1977 @Vanish @Alfie @pain @kiwi @luckynumber8

Could you please check your PMs and join both leagues.

Whose team name is "The Midnight Marauders"? I'm assuming it's luckynumber8 because you've opened my PM and that team name has joined the league?

Is there any confirmation he's going to be the starting hooker playing majority minutes with Williams and Austin in the halves?
Unless there is, I would've thought Austin and Sezer starting halves, with one of them playing 20-30 minutes at hooker to spell Havili?

Apparently Gould gave Griffin a public serve in the tunnel as the first half ended in the Panthers v Bulldog trial & this was heard by several fans & the Bulldogs coaching staff. Gould was seen yelling words to the effect of "this looks like a reserve grade outfit....fix it" to Griffin & assistant coach Ciraldo.

I think the Panthers forums hate Griffin just as much as the Dragons forums hate McGregor.

If Rochow can jag that starting spot I may start with him instead of a Latu/Evans/AFB/JBrom/Alvaro type. At least you know you will probably get 30 points worth of tackles + anything extra is a bonus.
