I was considering this too, however if he is named I'd be worried that he's just there for a couple of weeks until McQueen is back to full fitness.
He did have great stats in 2015 & 16, however if he's consigned to being a 30 minute bench player it'd be a complete waste of a pick?

He's in my team atm. His stats from the trial from nrlsctalk - 12 runs @ 91 mtrs & 33 tackles. That's 42 points just there. Of course his selection depends on him starting. I actually have 2 Tigers forwards in Rochow & Eisenhuth who is another who likes to tackle & both will be making plenty of tackles with their opening games.

One comment on a Tigers forum re Rochow was that he'll play big minutes, is good defensively with a high work rate. In fact when they had the top 3 ratings from the trial it was 1. Rochow 2. Thompson 3. Aloiai. Anyway if Rochow plays the way he has been playing every week he'll be hard to drop for McQueen who imo isn't anything special.

Ok I've made some modifications and I've gone with McGuire for his DPP by downgrading JT to Moses and adding JBrom for Latu. How does this look now?

    Smith
    Bromwich Lodge
    McGuire Murray RFM
    Moses Croft
    Mitchell Takarangi
    Tedesco Ponga Katoa

I completely agree that McQueen (and Lawrence for that matter) are nothing special.
However I think it'd be tough for any of those guys to have great fantasy numbers due to the logjam of (mediocre) forwards there.
McQueen, Lawrence, Rochow, ET and Eisenhuth all vying for 3 spots (granted ET probably gets some minutes in at hooker). And there's Twal as well, but I believe he's a FRF rather than back rower?

If there's any reason to believe Rochow is going to get 60+ minutes, even for 4-6 weeks he'd be straight in to my team. Especially as he's 312k and DPP. I'd bring him in instead of Liu which would give me 200k to upgrade Taka or Katoa to a decent WFB/CTR.

if rochow cements a first grade spot that will be a hell of a turnaround from playing off the bench in QLD last year.

One of those cheapies a prop or are you hoping Nicholls gets dpp or just risking it?

If you've gone Moses & JBrom for JT & Latu, I'd say that's an awesome move.
Really like your team, would just move Carty in for McGuire to give yourself a FRF on the bench.

Hey Lads! So I am just in a small office group where basically it is just most points at the end of the year wins. I am struggling with my team as I am a bit scared to take a punt on players like Watson, Cartwright (due to his trial form), Murray (due to reports he may not get the minutes he is expected), Taumalolo (not sure if he can produce numbers like last year).

    JBrom Lodge
    Murray TLolo Jurbo
    Croft Watson
    Kennar Mitchell
    Rapana Mansour Katoa

    INT
    Latu Carty Thompson Croker

    EMG
    Kikau Havili Douehi Isaako

Thoughts would be great thanks guys.!.

I think you've spent a lot of money at 2FR when there are heaps of value options. I would downgrade Lolo or Jurbo to either Merrin Harris or even RFM and either upgrade Watson, CEN/WFB or your bench for a bit more balance.

    If it were me:

Id go Mansour to someone like GI. YOu get the same disappointment for a 130k cheaper. Use that money to upgrade your bench.

The same could be said for Murray, if you want to keep your guns of JTurbo and Tolo, drop him down to NAS or someone similiar

I didn't even see Mansour there. He could go okay, but I would be wary if Peachey stays inside him because he will never get the ball.

Yeah, I nearly took him in our Draft. Just want to wait for TLT. Without seeing the breakdowns I reckon he got more minutes than any other second rower in the trials. Has shown he can score at close to gun status and looked very keen in the trials. I swore McQueen had the starting spot locked up in pre-season but I may have been wrong Embarassed

@StormTrooper96  looking at your backline, rapana and mansour could be considered risky players to start your season with.
I say this as they are capable of scoring 100's one week and in the 20's the next so most coaches will buy them at low prices during the year, or as luxury picks after their forwards are sorted.

the safe bet would be to downgrade one to ponga and maybe upgrade a reserve to rfm if you can afford it.

    Thanks for the comments lads.

What players am I looking at upgrading though? Never been good at picking which mid rangers players to upgrade to the guns when I get the money

I missed a couple of weeks of threads so not sure if it has been stated:

Last trial Taane Milne actually played second row off the bench. So he is another one to add to our glut of average backrowers. I am keen as on Rochow after the trials but as with most at this time of year, TLT will be the tell.

What I love about this place, is that every year I score inside the top 1% or so in fantasy. Which is barely mid pack here. I'm L4 this year....and 2 or 3 seasons removed from may last L1 appearance! Guns everywhere here.
