SI wrote:Yep, that's true. I feel the Storm have further to fall comparatively to the Broncos personally, and Croft had an average of 1 try per game in his 4 scores for his average last year. Also with Munster at 6 week in week out now I can see Croft settling in to a genuine halfback role-lots of try assists but not so many tries.
Yep I think that's a really underrated point in Croft's stats that's barely been mentioned here. All those attacking stats he's had.
I think Munster is a great buy this year. Only one try last year, senior half now and first full season as five-eighth.

What are your thoughts on Rochow getting a starting gig? I have not seen him play recently
but he is a great enabler and with the Tigers fixtures he will at least rack up some tackle stats
( IF ) he is in the starting team and stays there for awhile. TLT I suppose.

I didn't think he would really get a look in Trajan but just by going from some of the talk he was great in teh trials and is a genuine chance to get a starting gig. I personally don't know how though when you have CLaw, McQueen and Rochow going for the same spot. That's presuming ET stays on one edge and Eiseinhuth keeps the lock role.

Sounds like Sam Cook will debut from the bench for the warriors. Was reading comments on a warriors fan group and a couple blokes were saying its about time that isaac luke has started taking the team seriously, has actually put in the work this off season, etc. Wouldnt sway me to picking him but might keep an eye an him

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 8
Unless TLT throws a spanner in the works, think I've worked out a basic structure I'm happy with.
Cook GRIFFIN HAVILI
Bromwich Lodge Kikau FIFITA
Brown Merrin TAUKEIAHO ARROW ROCHOW
Cartwright TOWNSEND CROKER
Leilua TAKA KENNAR
Tedesco Ponga Katoa
All the guys in capitals ar ethe ones I've got in the team atm but still not 100% on.
Guys I'm closely considering:
RFM, NAS, Cam Murray, Kevans, McKendry
Would love to hear thoughts on the players I'm weighing up especially.

"3 Tyrell Fuimaono and16 Tyrell Fuimaono." So the rabbits get around the salary cap by cloning players??
Jeez I hope Takairangi starts as 2RF to stuff their predictions (and thus not make me change my team for the 262nd time)
Well they've cloned George so why not Tyrell?

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 8
Regarding Nikorima playing 80 last year
In the games he played 80 minutes the average is correct as mentioned (47)
Though 4 games where he didn't score tries he scored 27,27,28,31 (rounds 8,23,24,25)
Milford by contrast scored 37,56,70,40 in the above games so look at how you want
In those games Milford ran the ball twice as much, 6 try assists compared to none for Niko which tells me he let Milford run the show.
Anyways in base stats he averaged 19 tackles and 80 run metres for the games he played 80 minutes (don't have his kick metres on me)
So under priced by at least a few points but are we sure he can keep his try scoring at 1 every 2 games or all the attack won;t be run through Milford?

Thanks Wolfie, yes it is a worry and if he does start and the Roosters carve them a new one he may be on the chopping
block sooner then later. A conundrum because I am 1K short getting Turbo in ( Latu ) the offending player.

Hmmmm, food for thought. I was a way for a few weeks so think I missed where you linked these stats mate. Any chance you could link again please?

I'm kinda hoping Welch doesn't get named in the 17 so I can drop him from my 18th spot.. I just have this feeling hes going to go off

I've been the 1K a couple of combinations now, so damn frustrating.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 8
Re niko, i fully expect his scoring to be volatile. 30 one week, 70 the next, etc. I guess the question is whether he can have enough big scores to see a high average. Expect his kicking game to improve this year, hopefully do plenty of the long kicking.
Tbh right now this "convincing myself" is making me go a little cold on him.

Here's an interesting thought, and may be worth its own thread so that we can refer back, but list two players you really wish you had the balls to start with but just cant do it/dont have the faith

SJ and Munster. Can't afford them in my main team, but they're in my WAGs team.

For players who *might* have gun seasons but, yeah not confident enough to pick them over safer options - Wade Graham, Moses Mbye.

Rapana because the Raiders do not look on the ball at the moment without Hodgson and
Fifita because I have never had much luck with him and he may start slow and cannot play the ball!!

Were you concerned last year when Slade Griffin was on the bench?
Suspect he'll play lock, back row, cover injuries
I read a while back somewhere that he's been spending some time training at lock.
