I'm not sure but I think you have to declare your intention to play for Australia to play origin. I think Taumalolo has stated he just wants to play for Tonga.

Guessing he missed Australian selection? If so they won't hold it against him that he still wanted to play at the world cup. Don't see it impacting his Origin chances, if playing well.

RE: Fifita. I reckon he won’t be picked for Origin. Look at the forwards for NSW. Also Freddy has continuously said how Fifitas discipline is costly and that he makes bad decisions at crucial times.

Origin is the one arena where they show blind loyalty, even when players arent playing well at club level. If performing well for their club like Fifi is, they don't get dropped when they are the established encumbent. The time to have brought Vaughan in was last season when he was killing it.

Fifita is better than those 3 props. The only one close to him is Vaughan.

IMO Fifita has been found out. Doesn’t have the same impact against the top sides like he used to. Also at origin he was pretty much taken out of the game. Maybe they persist with him off the bench. But I don’t know...when you hear Freddy talk about players he sounds indecisive on Fifita. Still a long while until Origin.

Two things that separate Fifita from the other contenders are:
(a) his stamina where he can play big minutes as shown against the Eels &
(b) his x factor where he can literally win the game on his own as he did in the 2017 origin 1.

Yeah totally agree. No doubt he has the potential to break a game open. I guess it depends what Freddy (and let’s be honest, Gus as well...he is in Freddy’s ear) wants in his team.

Wasn't Vaughan injured last year?

Fifita will play origin.
