Taking two future immortals and two hall of famers out of the squad doesn't automatically mean Queensland is fielding a team of numpties. Their backups are about on par with NSW. All it does is even the playing field for the first time in over a decade.

Blues should be favorites by rights, but the bookies and the public have lost the plot in exaggerating the difference between the two teams. I'm a NSW supporter and I will be betting on QLD because their price is so out of proportion with their realistic likelihood of winning.

The QLD bench is absolutely terrifying as a Blues fan. Blues can't get into a grind or it will get embarrassing very quickly. If Blues are going to win I'm expecting a 24-20 kind of scoreline. If QLD get on top early we are looking at an 8-12 kind of game.

Only QLDers claim the death of Origin. NSW still show up in record numbers even after 11/12 series losses.

Origin will die when we get a roll on because they've got two heads but no heart.

Buzz just said on nrl 360 that Crichton is having second thoughts after signing with the Roosters. Apparently now that Souths are playing so well & looking like a premiership favourite he is doubting his decision. If he does end up doing a DCE then what a manus.

He said that after they’d just finished saying they’d have trouble affording Sutton next year. Where does the money come from for Crichton?

It’d be worth missing out on Murray to see the Roosters miss out on someone for once.

Roosters don't need Crichton with Radley coming through Wink

(Although if Crichton does come, Radley will play hooker and bye bye Jake Friend.)

Would you guys keep Dugan? Holding him this week (Lane and Thompson out), is due back 16, bye 17. I only have 10 trades left after this week, so I'm thinking about just holding.. If he doesn't play 16 I'll dump him. Need to be conservative with trades from now. Hoping Olive can hold a 30 average filling in.

Each trade I can save is another guy I can down grade. Cogger and Olive could potentially give me 2 final upgrades, which could get me Teddy and Matterson for the run home.

As an Englishman preparing for my 2nd Origin series I too am a bit shocked by the odds offered by the bookies. I understand that QLD have lost 2-3 absolute stars but it's not like their replacements in the Maroons team are inadequate.
I think the more telling stat is the fact that NSW has a new coach and 11 debutants, I know they're all experienced NRL players but if you've never experienced an Origin match I can't help thinking so many newbies means there is more room for someone to 'choke'.

My money is going on Queensland as I believe the (bookies) odds are tilted too far in favour of NSW.

Does Crichton have the ability to just walk away from the Roosters contract?

Interesting for me as a Broncos fan hoping we don't lose Sua.

Tedesco did from the raiders I think.

What I heard there was tigers hadn’t said a word to him about renewing, sticky was only one who made an offer. Farah spoke to Tedesco after and asked why he was leaving, when teddy said no one had spoken to him, Farah fired a rocket under management
