For some reason I'm looking closely at Mann and Dufty at their prices.

Koro was going to be my 18th man but he is now a trade out. That extra trade means I'm probably stuck with Fonua as Mr 18 or I run very light on trades for the run home

Yeah I'm looking at the latter. Koro was an unexpected trade for me also.

How excellent would another R.Martin be right about now! Just an extra 300k would do me a world of good.

I have been looking at RTS but indeed Dufty is on my radar now.

Bah. I want to trade to tidy up my rd 17 team, but the only good options (that aren't currently in my team) for rd 17 have question marks over them (at least in my head they do...):
SJ (Denver test? Will miss rd 16?)
Arrow (is it clutching at straws hoping he misses selection for origin 3?)
Ryan James (could potentially make the origin side)
Tohu Harris (see SJ)
RFM (as above, less likely to be rested?)
Mbye (potential team switch causing him to miss r 17)
Yeo, TPJ, Mannering (not really keepers unless Yeo has done time in the ctrs and gets DPP....though I dont think he's done that this year....)

I don't know, he'll probably stay around his price and a 30pt player, but can go big on his day and might be more involved in attack certainly for round 17 you would think.

Yeah I'm looking at running TPJ/J Friend 18th/19th ATM, with Martin below them at 20. Don't look at my centres though, pretty rubbish.. Will trade 1 of them out for Teddy/Turbo (hopefully Martin if he hits $600k) for the run home, dropping Fonua to 20th.
@Fortitude, Martin as 18th man then tumble weed would scare the shit out of me! Could be worth a concession in your backs to have a bit of $$ to upgrade him or one of the $212 guys to a cow?

I know, it's definitely tough. McInnes is probably a must for me but can wait a week. I'm thinking the best option this week is Brown but that round 17 is putting me off, when it probably shouldn't.
If MBye can stay at the Dogs (which I really hope is the case) he's a good price.

Holy crap, with TPJ, Friend, Martin at 18th, 19th and 20th what the heck does the rest of your team look like? Even the top teams don't have a bench like that!
You either has a massive salary cap or really have skimped in you halves/Cs/WFB?
Or I guess alternatively you don't have all the guns?

I wonder how many Americans are going to turn up expecting to see the All Blacks, and instead get to see the Kiwis B demolished by England

Yeah you're not wrong.
Maybe, ill just focus on bringing in McInnes this week and save the trades until this whole Denver Fiasco becomes clearer. I do really want to punt ARey for SJ ASAP though.

The ABs must be gutted.
People in the US already think the ABs got done (several times) by the USA team but thats mostly the fault of the NZRU for not putting the resources into their 7s outfit and then rebranding them as "All Blacks".
But this ones out of their control so when the Kiwis get smoked, yeah the US will again think the ABs aren't all that

This, plus Ireland beat the ABs last time they played there. Global brand fail

People that have gone hard trading should comfortably have a good 18th man and a serviceable 19th one IMO.
I would think, those that don't, should have enough trades to manage their team without.
If you fall outside of either of these I'd say you theres a need to revisit strategies for next season.
My Cap is $14.2m and my EMGs currently are:
1 Gutherson
2 Isaako
3 Douiehi
4 Nuff
Eventually Isaako will go to a Nuff and I'll run with just Guth and Doueihi as EMGs but it will mean my 17 should be:
Cook
Fifita, Taupau
JTrbo, Arrow, Tolo
SJ, DCE
Aitken, Hiku
Ponga, Teddy, RTS
Cam, McInnes, Harris, Fitz
Ideally I'd prefer TTrbo over RTS, Masters? over Hiku, and Crichton over Fitz but I ran out of trades.

Sorry mate, I actually played TPJ at 17 this week, so Martin moves into 19th, with Dugan and Cogger at 20 & 21. I'm playing Fonua and Olive in the centres, so Olive will be moved to 20 if Dugan ever recovers. All up I'm;
Cook | Fifi Arrow | Jturb Harris Lolo | Arey SJ | Olive Fonua | Holmes Ponga Mitchell
Smith Surgess EseEse TPJ - JFriend Martin Dugan Cogger.
Holmes has almost peaked for an easy upgrade, Coggs to be downgraded and Martin turned into Teddy at some stage, probably after round 17. Hopefully I can get $100k out of Olive at some stage..

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 53
Really want to bring in Mcinnes (ideally this week) and SJ (once the Denver test is sorted).
The problem I have is that most of the players id consider trading down to make cash are playing rd 17, i.e Hiku, Martin, Croker.
The other option is, I trade out a SOO player. I.e Cook. With the aim to bring him back after Rd 17.
Its that, or leave myself stupidly short on depth.
EDIT:
Changed my mind (with in a minute that's WL territory).
No trades this week, pending any major omissions in TLT.
Get through this week and SOO the following week. Can we make trades that week?
Any chance Cook gets rested again? gives him a solid rest if he is nursing an injury and Farah is doing a good job. Filthy I didn't get on him like is suggested.

Fortitude wrote:Can MAX trade this week leaving me a team pretty close to the one I want for Rd17 with 6 trades left for run home. At this rate ill have (bolded players in rd 17)
Only concern is im 100% certain ive spread myself thin. And will get fucked down the line. Sitting inside top 100 fairly consistent for the year, so luck is bound to end.
Cook
Fifita, Alvaro
Tolo, Taupau, Jurbo
SJ, DCE
JCroker, Aitken
Tedy, Ponga, Hiku
Smith, Harris, Havili, Mcinnes
Martin, 212,212,212
Will be tough run home with Havili (Hodgo due back) Martin (in and out of team) Hiku (most 3rd WFB are much better)
