What happened to the 4 trade plan you put up earlier? It looked the goods, bringing in 3 keepers and a cow I think?Liverpool_Bulldog wrote:Silly to trade out Surgess and Walker??

For anyone bringing in SJ, aren't you worried about the Denver test coming up? Thought the NZ coach was clear that anyone participating won't be backing up in round 16

It hasn't changed just trying to keep Kikau and Martin for RD17 but it will involve trading out Surgess and Walker to get the guys I want

Would Kearney really let SJ go over there and play? Their star player, they would love to wrap him up for an extra week, smae with Harris to a lesser extent perhaps.

A thought re rnd 16 players, if you only have one that sits out round 16 (eg trading in Shaun Johnson), then you can probably cover him a little easier than if it were round 17, where you'd get zero.
eg. assuming players score their average..
Round 16 - SJ's out, so you play.. say.. Cogger. He scores 32. So you've missed out on 28 points.
Round 17 - SJ plays, Cogger doesn't (bye). You're 60 points up.
Net result is in front by 32 points.
Obviously depends on who you have as a halves backup right now. Maybe you trade out Cogger to Mann for round 17.. Mann scores 40... so all up, 72 points in front.
Obviuosly that is looking at it in a bit of a vacuum, but point being, missing rnd 16 players should be easier to cover.

Dogs playing before Warriors is a bonus. Punting Martin for SJ or Harris would be crazy talk if he is playing with a BE of -1 and an average of 50odd.
In other news. Fuck off any South forwards you have, any money wrapped up in a player whose name ends in urgess. Is risky, to many decent players viaing for minutes.
That and they don't play rd 17.
Poor man options to consider for rd 17 on run home would have to be RFM, Tapine?

I have Crichton and don't see him going anywhere.

Yeah that's a tough one. The old club v country debate. I'd say if Kidwell was still the national coach then the players may not have been that keen to play. But a new coach/culture & trying to rebuild the Kiwi's international standing after pathetic losses to Tonga & Fiji in the world cup is a big incentive to play.

If I get rid of Surgess my last options are Harris or SJ. I have no idea which is choose.

Yeah well I can't understand why martin wouldn't be starting.
How is Eastwood still a first grade player. Him or Elliot aren't a scratch on him.
Makes no sense, has to be something else going on.

Which two are would you keep for the rest of the season. Or anyone crazy enough to play all 3?
DCE - lost goal kicking and sharing kicking meters to Hodkinson but still managing to put out 50's
Cleary - lost goal kicking and sharing kicking meters to Baloney
SJ - Dominant half, goal kicking, and looks handsome. Obvious keeper

My 3 trade targets are McInnes, SJ & T. Harris but all this talk about round 16 has me nervous so I think I'll just bring in McInnes out of the 3 just to play it safe.

I have McInnes locked in for Watson as 1 of my trades.
Surgess and Walker lined up for SJ and Harris. Maybe it's possible to run those two one last week against the Eels. I think though that SJs and Harris' price might blow out to far

DCE and SJ. Only reason I wouldn't keep Cleary is that he's playing Origin and DCE is not. Players usually don't back up well after Origin
