Holy crap, didn't know most of that had been said.

Pay has said form right? or has Pay said due to missed training? Either way, hadn't he been going ok on the park? I'll hold for one more week at least, actually I'll probably hold through to 17 and then decide before that round.

I've made my (4 trades) for the round to give me:

    Cook
    Fifita, Taupau
    Taumalolo, Arrow, Harris
    DCE, SJ
    Isaako, Hiku
    Teddy, Ponga, RTS

    Smith, McInnes, RFM, Gutherson
    Martin, Fainu, Doueihi, MCK

The plan at this stage is to move from MCK & Martin to JTrbo and a 212k player once I have more confidence in where Martin is at.

Until then at least I can loop that 17th player between Guth and Fainu.

1 trade for the run home though Smile

Nice team cheer Funny how are teams are starting to converge now!

wolfking wrote:Fuck I'm stuck.  I think I'm going to bite the bullet, keep Martin and JFH and upgrade Murray.  Seems the smart thing to do leading into round 17.  I could downgrade Doueihi and get McInnes instead, but then I would be short on funds for a final 2 upgrades I think looking at it.

Are people still bringing Harris in this week when we won't know the test team til afterwards?

Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Smith
    Fifita Taupau
    Arrow Tolo Crichton
    Coggar Reynolds
    Mitchell Marsters
    Teddy MBye Ponga

    Cook Griffin Murray JFH

    Fonua Martin Doueihi Olive

    14 trades and 202K.

I don't get the love for JFH mate. It strikes me that people are viewing a trade as worth way more than it really is. The guy's minutes have dropped completely off from where he started the first 9 rounds at (averages ~50 compared to ~63) and his scores (and price) have dropped off accordingly (averages ~35 now over the last 4).

Surely thats not worth holding for just the round 17 score. You could probably get that from someone like Mann for $300k less and use that $300k to bring in another one of Harris, SJ, McInnes? All those guys are needed for round 17 I reckon mate. I don't think Harris or SJ goes to the USA either. Whens the last time Harris played for the Kiwis?

I've had a decent look at your side mate, and you really are up shit creek a bit with your money situation.

Initially I was going to be consistent with previous advice and suggest holding Martin but dump Murray, JFH, and Doueihi but actually you don't have enough $ to do anything decent. SO I reckon you might have to dump Martin too.

You have SOOO many trades left. You need to use them otherwise you will end up with a bunch come the end of the year and would have sacrificed a whole heap points and therefore ranking spots.

    I'd be going:
    Murray to Harris
    JFH to SJ
    Martin to Mann
    Doueihi to Fainu

That gives you 266k and 10 trades still. It gives you the flexibility of options for Cogger if/when he loses his starting spot. You could even play Fonua over him this week (I reckon he goes well v Canberra!)

Then I'd let Griffin earn a bit more money before then looking to trade him to McInnes before 17 (you'll have the money.

Beyond that though your cash generation has been shitty so you've got all these trades but bugger all you can do with them. You are left with mucking around with Fonua, Olive, and vote tally Fainu and Mann post 18 to see if you can bring in JTrbo for the run home.... Alternatively I guess you could go the gun in gun out strategy for 17 with you borderline guys. I,e, Crichton/Arrow to James/RFM etc - but you probably are then gonna have to bring them back again. so 2 trades for ~50 points or so. Better than leaving those points on the sidelines though.

Hope that helps mate. But my main point is that those trades are wroth nothing if you don't use them.... Go hard mate and ensure (as much as you can) you get some decent scores on the board in the next few weeks and in particular for 17.

Pretty keen to trade Murray and Havili out this week given the question marks over minutes. Loosing havili before 17 is a kick in the dick, but he has done well.

    Will probs go:
    Havili to Fainu
    Murray to McInness

Leaving me 10 trades and  330k.

Will wait to see if Martin plays. If he is playing ill hold him for a final money rise. If not. Martin to SJ.

This leaves me with 9 trades and a 15 out of my 17 I'm stoked. Jcroker and Hiku being a bit of a drag. Will use my extra trades to harvest cash to upgrade these post rd 17.

    Cook
    Fifita, Alvarao
    Jurbo, Tolo, Taupau
    SJ,DCE
    Aitken, Jcroker
    Teddy, Ponga, Hiku

    Smith, Harris, Mcinnes, Arey

    Fonua, Fainu, TMM, 212

    Jcroker to Marsters
    Hiku to TTurbo or Mitchell

post 17 will leave me in a good place.

Thanks mate, yeah I suspect the core of most teams up the top now are basically the same. A couple POD guns separating everyone out + who people have from 16 down. Hard to make up much ground now but easy to come a cropper if you run out of trades, like me Smile

Apparently the commentators on NSW Cup match said he was dropped for being late to training, but again, they could just be repeating what they've 'heard', like we are.

Cheers mate. Will see what happens aye!

What will happen if BJ, gives a poor head test? and fails?

Surely they wont put Whitehead in the CTR? Cotric to FB Whigton to CTR?

I realise this isn't really Fantasy relevant. But damn Im keen for a raiders win.

    Like it mate.

Potentially could look at ARey to RFM (or round 17 playing equivalent - R James?). Could give you an extra 50-60 points or so and Im not convinced ARey is worthy of being in your final 17. BE of 55, could be a good time to boot him.

Gutherson looks good as an 18th man too this year. DPP means you get WFB and Half cover.

With 9 trades you could look to go Fonua to round 17 player and then to Guth. Could add another 40 points there if you can find the right guy.

This is really good advice mate and I greatly appreciate it.  I realised last night that my cash is automatically stalled when I looked for a Doueihi downgrade and traded in McInnes, instantly saw then I was going to stuggle.  I don't mind holding Griffin and running with him the way he is going.  Could be somewhat of a POD as I'd say most teams would have traded him anyways.  These are actually really good trades, and I'm a bit of a tightass, and that's with my trades also!  But this looks good and still solid for 17.  Cheers.

EDIT: If I wanted to hold Martin I could turn JFH into McInnes instead of SJ, but probably not wise as my only halves would be COggar and Reynolds (with MBye at the back)

No worries, good luck mate. Yup I think Griffin is a good hold for now. But unless he is banging out 55s every week, he is a definite trade before 17 for me. But in the mean time he can help you make some of the cash you need (even if he doesn't hit those scores).

Everyone likes a bit on the side

As is customary around these parts, to maintain interest and for a bit of fun we run different comps over the back end of the season.

The first one this year will be a survivor tipping comp, Rules are as follows:

You pick 1 team to win their game each week.
If your team wins you progress to week 2
If your team loses then you're out
You can only pick each team once over the course of the competition.
Tips to be in prior to Friday nights 1st game (unless you're picking a team playing Thursday in which case before kick off Thursday)
Competition will kick off round 15 - Add your name below to join
Competition manager reserves the right to increase it to team and margin if we start to run out of rounds.

This could be your last chance of 2018 bragging rights glory. Any questions ask away.

What's your thoughts on RFM mate?  I traded him 2 weeks ago but after last weekend could be a cut price keepr I could get back for 17?

EDIT: And as I said above mate, I could hold Martin do the other 3 trades but get McInnes instead of SJ now? Don't know how I would get him later though.

I'm looking at 2 trades - finally punting JT for Brimson, and angrily sending out Koro (who I bought juuust before his suspension) for SJ. Carrying Murray, Kikau, Martin.

Thinking about giving Gooise the boot for Fainu too. But starting the week with only 8 trades left makes me a bit nervy about swapping a R13 liability for an R13 liability. Could be as Mann is worth the 42k extra....
