Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 61
I'm just returning from 1 week without internet. NBN modem died so had to live without the internet and fantasy for a week and wait for a technician to tell me what I already knew, still survived but can't be bothered catching up on the forum. Has anyone heard who will be processing the surveys we completed a month back, Chis Kennedy, aka Lone Scout, Fanhub, Fiona, Rabbit, Fantasy Butters?????????????

The question about would you pay to use Fantasy was interesting. Happily so long as it's a quality platform so that rules out giving those spuds any money.bluetige wrote:I'm just returning from 1 week without internet. Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 61
SJ's negatives have been a bit high the last few games though, I think that's worth noting.
I'm losing my mind, he defends next to Tohu normally yeah? Not having him there may not be helping.

There's not really much between Aitken, Marsters and Mitchell.
stats suggest it'd be Marsters or Mitchell to leave out but it's very close.
Player, 54+ scores, average, range
Marsters - 3/17, 41, 22-68
Mitchell - 3/15, 39, 23-61
Aitken - 3/17, 42, 22-70
SJ, ARey and Teddy shouldn't even come into the equation.
Mbye - 4/16, 44, -1-101
Thanks mate, really a roll of the dice. Those 3 you mentioned weren't in calculations really, but just realised SJ at home, so I will be playing him. Aitken had 30 last week for doing fuck all and Mitchell should be good for 30. I think it's down to Marsters and MBye.

Article on nrl.com Green saying he will wait until the final training session (today) to decide whether Clifford is in the team but from his comments it sounds like he is in, and will play in the halves.

Just read that. Maybe the TMM at FB rumor could be true. We've already taken the punt on him mate so hoping he gets a run. I don't think I could play him though, good luck if you do.

Disagree. SJ rarely kicks a huge amount and the bulk of his points often come from attacking stats.
The two times this season at Mt Smart that he's kicked under 200m (135, 126) he's scored 63 and 57.
He kicked 201m at the start of the season at home and scored 78.
SJ also scores better at home. He's scored below 50 only once from five games at Mt Smart this season and averages 59.
Away from home he averages 44 and has only beaten 50 twice from six games.
Sorry but that's nonsense. He averaged 400 metres a game last season 20pts that's got to be near the top average for halfbacks

I don't even subscribe to the "don't hate the player, hate the game" philosophy- I am very much glad it is part of the mechanics, whether by design or accident.
Any extra facet of the game which allows me to think about Fantasy for a few extra hours and bite my nails whilst I deliberate on decisions is fine by my books. Those choices can just as easily backfire, and for me it strengthens the value of the game by including extra depth to it.
It doesn't make me feel like a cheater in the least, no matter how many people bandy about saying so. In fact, I think those claiming moral high ground by not poolhooping are the biggest bunch of suckers in the business. Why deny yourself the wonderous pleasures of the poolhoop? Poolhoop is love. Poolhoop is life.

Saying SJ rarely kicks a huge amount is nonsense. If last 2 games is the new normal then he's no longer a gun

His season average is 194km and his last 3 average 199.Loomer wrote:

EDIT: His lower scores aren't just kick metre related, even going off the 150 for the last 2 games that only 2.5 points off his average which he's scoring well below.

I'm talking about this season in isolation. You pointed out his low kick metres in the past few games but he's kicked below 200m for a number of games this season and those games at home he's still scored well. His highest score of the season (78) he still only kicked 200m.

Yep. I wish I'd paid attention to the fact he's not kicked over his last season average once when I bought 2 weeks ago. Don't think I'm getting the 144k back he's lost. Maybe I should keep James and Mbye and sell SJ
Actually one of reasons I bought with Tohu and Bunty out which was putting me off was that he kicked over 500 3 of last 5 thought he would do more pressure relieving long kicks

I think you're reading too much into how he scores his points. Taumalolo doesn't get kick metres either and that doesn't bother anyone, FWIW I'd happily back in SJ to go over 50 this week at home.Loomer wrote:

SJ has always been an inconsistent scorer over the years, one tactic was to not start with him, wait for him to go on his run of rubbish scores and pick him up on the cheap.
I think the 15 point difference in his home (59) and away (44) average is significant enough to read into. 4/7 last games are at home. I think he'll finish the season well.

If you search 'NRL Fantasy' on Bing, this website is on the 2nd page of results. (MTB's site makes the first page)
If you google "NRL Fantasy" then Butters's page rates higher than this one
Obviously bing knows its stuff

Agree, but I am curious as to who will decipher the info obtained from the survey. I think we are all mushrooms here with only Fantasy Butters being the only "outsider" I know who has a say on the game running, and not a very good one mind you.Krump wrote:

When I first joined this forum, my user name was 'butters' I couldn't believe how much of a douche everyone was in here. I was like "shit, I don't even know these guys and they hate me already". ANYWHO long story short, I figured it out, started a new account, used random word generator and here I am.
Note. I just tried logging on to my butters account to troll hard, but its now inactive. Boo-urns

Brilliant. I can just imagine.
"Hey guys, new to the forum. Wondering if I should go Johnson, Cronk or DCE as my main half this year?"
"Fuck off back to the hole you came from butters!"
