What's stopping them just sacking him? They'd pay out more than his salary per year in brown paper bags.

When he first started he was and not just a mum and dad investor. Part of his contract was shares. I thought years ago while he was still there he sold them.

Bennett is holding the club hostage.

Souths have agreed to release Seibold early, Brisbane have agreed to release Bennett early however Bennett is refusing to leave unless they fire him. So I assume he has a pretty juicy payout if he gets fired, then he gets paid for 2019 by Souths as well.

Laughing i'm starting to come around on this situation, it's been hella annoying up to this point, but watching the media & Souths self-destruct while Bennett and the players carried on with business as usual was pretty damn entertaining,.

We'll be just fine with Bennett at the helm, regardless of the board situation, it's been pretty damn clear that the players respect Wayne, and so long as we avoid filling the casualty ward to capacity like last season, i have every confidence we'll be up around where we usually are and should be on the ladder throughout the season proper Very Happy

you didn't see the massive damage control they had to do after every-one in the organization was prepared for Wayne to be at Redfern on Monday, to the point where Seibold had already said his farewells to the players? Laughing

Bennett is putting himself before the club and players. Huge distraction all year if he stays and I hope he does. Would love to see him go out a loser.

Bennett wins some power plays (surely gets a payout for contract termination) and I have a feeling the Rabbits loose.

yeh, honestly i thought our best chance this year was to not rock the boat and make a clean cut after the season ended, learning the gritty details released this morning, it's become apparent that wasn't an option anymore, but i feel like there's a few too many moving pieces and settling in to do for the team to be the threat it could be, i think when Seibold has full control of the team from day dot is when we'll get the results we're looking for

Could his dealing with Souths players be enough to break his contract?

Possibly. At least enough to force a confidential separation agreement

    Bennett got paid
Broncos got the coach they really wanted
Rabbits get the coach they really wanted

The only loser is Walters who probably expected to walk into an interim job, if not head gig.

Deadset, Bennett trying to claim he did the right thing in not walking on a contract, which he'd done before, so has a moral compass now, but not when he walked on Newcastle or his wife.... Plus, how's your ethics Bennett trying to coach two teams at once. That's backfired hasn't it, surely no payout now. Plus the ongoing negative impact your antics has had on both the players you claim to love and those you're off to coach. And his claim he has "never lost an 80 minutes GF" FMD, who cares mate.

He might have a great record, but I'm hard pushed to find a coach who isn't more about himself than Bennett.

"Im really pleased its all resolved and I can join this great club with a free mind, knowing I did the right thing by the fans, staff and players"

    nek minit

"I made it easy for them last time. Im not doing it this time"

Fuck me dead....could there be 2 bigger contradictory comments? lol. He wanted his cash from, its clear and obvious. When the Seibold deal started to look shakey, the broncos fucked bennett off as quick as they could.

I would be a bit worried if I were souths. He would have happily fucked them over this year if brisbane didnt sack him, as the clubs clearly had an agreement for a coach swap. It might take a while now for seibold to get comfortable in brissy too.

I mean fuck, he has obviously previously stated he was going to be there then didnt show - they dont just guess that coaches will be at these things. Its obvious he told souths one thing then flipped. Bennett obviously had himself only in mind and thought fuck them, ill do what I want.

I wonder if bronco fans now will be able to see bennett without their maroon coloured glasses on now that he is doing shady shit like this that directly affected the broncos.
