CHN killed it when he played 80 in 2017.i heard he's nabbed a starting spot so I'm taking a punt for now. Hugely underrated.. I'm saying that, if he's a benchie come round one he's getting flicked

Only if he gets the FB gig is he a good option imo. French will play the first 40 minutes of their first trial apparently and who knows plays there the second 40, probably Gutho.
The trial French is playing 40 minutes in is an ISP trial, Gutherson won't be playing in it at all. Only fringe first graders will get a run in it. Gutherson would be well out in front in the race for first grade fullback.
To be good value I think Gutho needs to have goal kicking, which is unlikely.

Obviously Ponga, Teddy & Turbo are the 3 favorites to finish the season as top 3 WFB scorers.
Can't help but think there's some upside in RTS to creep his way into that top 3...
Someone may have already replied but in the handful of games he played without SJ last year he scored quite a lot lower.... (from memory - might wanna check that though)

The good news is due to SJ's injury history we already have a sample size of RTS without him.
2018 - 5 games average of 29.4, high score of 50, low score of 14 with 3 scores under 30.
2017 - 6 games average of 51.3, high score of 68 low score of 35, 4 scores of 50+
TL;DR there is absolutely no trend and I've wasted my time writing this post

Re: 2019 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
On bulldogs back row, RFM and CHN were great value when they were available cheap the year they broke into first grade, not sure its so good now.
If CHN gets a starting forward role, I think he can average high 30s. Would need around 50 minutes plus to get that. If he gets close to 80 minutes that can push up into the 40s.
Priced at 30, so there is potentially value there, but its the job security that worries me. Jackson will be around for sure, and every chance RFM and Rhys Martin can find their way into starting too.

Re: 2019 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
I think CHN will play big mins. RFM rumoured to have bulked up & playing in front row. Apparently CHN, JJ, Elliot starting backrow & there will be an edge forward on bench like Martin. So Martin spells Elliot, JJ goes to lock & Martin edge leaving CHN unchanged.

Let's do both!
Aiden Sezer. HLF. $389,000. Priced at 27.2
BJ Leilua. CTR. $517,000. Priced at 35.2
Looks like I missed the discussion on this one but still going ahead with my thoughts.
Aiden Sezer. HLF. $389,000. Priced at 27.2 - Little bit of value as he should pick up a touch of additional kicking. Won't have a monopoly on kick metres as most expect as Hodgson loves a kick to the corner from hooker and Wighton had a decent amount of kick metres in his halves stints. See him scoring around the 30 point mark so not enough value for me.
BJ Leilua. CTR. $517,000. Priced at 35.2 - I have a tendency to avoid high priced centres to start the year as they almost always cop a few low scores and bring the price down. If I had to take a high priced centre I prefer Croker to BJ as I believe Raiders will target that edge more often with no Rapana to finish opportunities. A full off season working with Hodgson should see a slight improvement in the team as a whole but I see BJ as pretty much get what you pay for.

Meaney and RFM
RFM - Too much competition for minutes in that pack. He isn't a stand out option over JJ or Martin while also competing with Elliott, CHN. Won't be touching any Bulldogs forwards
Meaney - Stats do not impress me at all. Does not pass the eye test. Hard pass for me

Re: 2019 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
Hi all.
I started fantasy last year with a bunch of mates and a shocking team. Midway through the season I stumbled across this forum. By just lurking this forum I managed to get my team to the top of our league by the end of the season, only loosing by 10 points. So this year I thought I would start off early and start making a shortlist of players. And hopefully be able to help a few other people like myself out this year.
While we are on the conversation of the Bulldogs.
Does anyone have any opinions of Lachlan Lewis this year? He was my favourite player by the end of last year showing a huge amount of skill and guts. But how does this translate to fantasy this year with his higher pricetag?
Thanks in advance for any help this year

If Hayne is found not guilty he could be a replacement for Barba. Anyone know what his price would be ?

He is priced a bit high for me considering the bulldogs are likely to struggle but will be watching closely early season! Does he have that 50 fantasy potential?

I agree he is priced a bit too high to be an insta-lock. But hes very high on my radar. I have been tossing up a halves pairing of Lewis and Munster. I guess wait and see how trials go?

If this does happen, CHN will score plenty of tries running off his short balls.
CHN is looking very likely in my team regardless. Doesn't have the workrate of someone like Angus Crichton, but has a similar ability for big scoring attacking plays. I don't know anything about how the doggies have trained but they don't really have a star backline, I reckon CHN might be a focal point of their attack.

Kieran Foran hasn’t been even a decent player for three years, it’s annoying that he’s back because it puts Lewis out of most teams due to the uncertainty it creates.

I heard somewhere that Ponga might be starting the halves? Any truth to that?

Reports are he's playing 6 with Watson at FB
Some are concerned his scoring drops at 6 considering his scoring there last year. But he was injecting himself at the same area last year at FB working with Fitz. He won't get kick return metres
