MTB - in your shoes I would prioritise minimising potential liability above all else. It is hard to see much upside for you in keeping it on.

I was going to say I'd definitely pay a subscription for the MTB site if it came down to it

@ MTB re legal advice. In NZ we have a citizens advice bureau which provides free advice & they refer you to all avenues of free advice including lawyers who take a case on for free. Do you have a similar organisation in Aussie.

Yeah, legal aid I think it's called. Might be worth a look

Teddy over RTS. RTS on his own is a buy as far as I can tell.
Yeah strongly considering getting Teddy in but it would annoy me if he missed 4 games (likely only 3) through byes and being rested. I already have Ponga and RTS with CNK in. Ponga at HLF with Teddy, RTS, and CNK is a pretty strong combo though. However, without Bateman and and a strong 3rd 2RF and no Fifita, I need to focus elsewhere.

Fuck them. Let's get the story out on Social media. Instead of fixing their product or hiring you, they're having a shitty at you. On top of that, they stole your price predictor! Would setting the site up on an off-shore server help?

The problem is MTB you have become a victim of your own success & a victim of the success of the fantasy fanatics site. Because fanatics has become the premium nrl fantasy forum & because your site is part & parcel of the fanatics site people other than fanatics have been using your site as a reference & publishing information from it (even lone scout has written about it) the nrl has become aware of it.

Pretty sure thats not how it works although I'll be clear to say I dont actually know how it works.
I've previously been involved in research using results data from Olympic events. We scraped the data we used (didnt pay for it). We weren't even able to publish research from those data, let alone profit from it.
They have to prove you've profited from it. The only niggly bit would be that you're impacting their profits by providing a free competing service. Fuck them anyway

You know in the old days we'd all be marching down to the nrl legal department with baseball bats & we'd crack a few skulls & then there would be no problem.

Its not just fanatics. Rogues, Renegade and presumably the other facebook groups also plug the shit out of his site (because its good)
Back in the old days (2004 I think) VNRL got shut down for using nrlstats data without permission, and the figure I remember floating around was something like $30,000 for legitimate access to their stats

Same name, same colour scheme, providing the same content as nrl fantasy and profiting through donations.
I'd say you better take it down, there is a pretty compelling argument to make that you leveraging off their brand and awareness and providing a similar service (Their subscription).
You wouldn't have to be a very good lawyer to win that case.
If you had a different name, different website and didn't look the same, I'd say you would be fine. But that's not the case.

That's utterly shit news MTB. Do you think the donation link is the trigger?
