On the radio news re the NZ case they said it was an ex All Black so who knows.

Yeah - I will be taking Cook over Smith and McInnes to start.

Can see Fifita being value, will look to see how he goes pre-season. Worried about a continuation of injuries but with no Gallen and Prior should gain responsibility/minutes.

Wonder if this makes someone fantasy relevant at the Warriors.

https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/12/10/jazz-tevaga-sidelined-after-ankle-surgery/ - 4-6 months from now will mean he may miss a fair chunk of the start of season.

Latrell had a meeting with Robinson on Monday where he was formally told his long-term future at the Roosters was over....that will teach him, he should of signed the contract when the Roosters offered it but he went looking for more money.

But he wasn't looking for a better job he was being greedy & now he has no job. How can there be a better job than playing for the Roosters who are the no. 1 team & therefore the better job.

When they earn that much they haven't a care in the world, can't help but feel the money side of things comes down to ego. After say earning $500k per year, does an extra $100k or so really matter, apart from seeing another player whom they deem "as not as good as me" get more.

But I said he was looking for a better PAYING job, which he definitely was.

I’m sure his management team is amateur hour, but anyone thinking Mitchell is the villain here is being played. The Roosters are a successful team used to get their own way, they are very well connected in the media, and they’ve worked th e connections to bury the guy because he dared to question his place.

Roosters definitely didn’t mind Tedesco and Crichton “being greedy” with still a year left on their contracts. What about Arrow right now?

A property (not a house, includes apartments) costs 900k on average in Sydney

600k v 500k is something which even very good players might only be able to get offered for one contract in their lifetime.

In those circumstances, no NRL player doesn’t have a care in the world about money. And a 20% pay difference is not ego.

Apparently Latrell Mitchell is the first and only player to ever test his value on the market. Imagine if there were other players doing that, like, right now?!

Media have had it out for him from the start.

How long was his last deal? He’s definitely been undervalued his whole career. But how dare he try and secure an extra 50k now. That poor multimillionaire Nick Politis being disrespected. It’s so warped.

I agree with Latrell being allowed to test the market, but I think it's as simple as the Roosters thinking he is not worth any more than the $800K they offered him, and given his inconsistent form and sometimes lazy attitude, it will only get worse over time if he thinks he is worth more than that playing centre. Has all the talent in the world but not always the right attitude at this point in time to be a polished player who performs week in week out. Attitude and effort count for a lot in team sports.

This all started because Latrell wants to play f/b because the earning potential is far greater for the f/b position even though he was earning a lot of money at ctr. I've got nothing against him trying to get more money because sportsmen have a 10-15 year window to maximise your income but if the Roosters offered 800k then to me he should of taken it & continued to play ctr. The thing is Latrell thinks he deserves to be $1m man but he isn't there yet because he has a lazy attitude so he is inconsistent & no club is going to pay $1m for that.
However Souths could now offer him a lot of money because the Titans told them Arrow isn't going anywhere so Souths have a lot of money to spend & Latrell might get his wish.

Yes he is inconsistent but isn't everyone... but maybe a few people? Ponga is on 1 mil a year playing FB, i remember a 3-4 week period this year playing FB he was virtually non-existent on the field. Val Holmes now a million dollar man. Was no world beater at the Sharks, been away from the game for year. I just think the media are doing exactly what they have intended to do from the start.

Both of your examples are fullbacks and tested. If you're good enough in the spine you get $1M, you don't pay a center $1M to play fullback. Media did the same to Matterson and for the same reason. He could easily have matched the Roosters offer but played fullback then got more than $1M
