If being distracted by off field events is the criteria then Josh Reynolds would be a prime candidate

Even if it weren't true, it is something that could get inside your head and knock you about, reading BS in the media and what not.

Multiple players who've left the Panthers have talked about it being a bit toxic there, hard to gauge sometimes what to make of those comments because everyone has their perspective on the truth.

Throw enough shit and some things will eventually stick, true or not

Way he finished season made it all look like a confidence thing, love him as a player. Sure it’s MS who said he plays like he’s covered in spiders. Ha classic

The way I look at those combos is that I fancy you to be able to find a value cheapie that is capable of nabbing 30pts. That’s a score that could easily outscore a Brimson on any given week or be only 6-10 off Brailey... then you get Fifita

Just could be as serious as 70+30 (100) vs 24 and 38 (62) on a good week

    Or 50+25 (75) vs 35 & 45 (80) on another week

I just want the 100pt potential pairing every time. Of course you could get a Brimson 50 plus Brailey 48 type combo at some point, but much rather be banking on a beast like Fifita than on them

Heard through a mate in league circles (works as a scout for some NRL teams) that his missus was the one that leaked all the videos and the team blamed him for everything. Would be hard to deal with that tbh.

Apparently she did it because of the whole cheating scandal as revenge. My mate also said he wouldn't have cheated and she was just psycho

I feel like he is one player that I will wake up with in my team after the 9's. It's worth noting that one DWZ moved to the Bulldogs his average jumped to 43.5 and run metres per game went up. I would have to rewatch a few games to see if there was any meaningful impact in terms of kick returns, I suspect it just comes down to the confidence of knowing he had the spot locked down

I've been thinking about DWZ. He's a really good player and runs in like a train but it doesn't seem to translate to fantasy. I don't think Edwards is as good butbhe DOES pick off the brush-off TBs.

    haha, me too.

What do we think of the Panthers this year? In recent seasons they have started the year off terribly, but there has been a lot of off-field drama mixed in. It seems as though they've had a quiet (in a good way) pre-season this time round and things are fairly settled.

They tried swapping Cleary and Maloney (last year?) and that just didnt work. The two of them just never really clicked on-field. Now that Cleary has sole control, that could be a good thing for their side.
They now have a settled hooker after being unable to find a solution last season. I think they could start the season quite strongly.

They have the talent to be a top 4 side. I have concerns on if Cleary is ready to step up and be the man. Regardless of chemistry on/off the field any team that loses James Maloney is worse off imo.

Having a quality 9 for the first time since Wallace retired is going to make a massive difference to the team structure and make the pack seem more organised. On paper depth is a little concerning in the forwards, but they always seem to have quality pathways for the youngsters to come in and produce.

I'd back them to finish somewhere in the middle range of the top 8

Talk is cheap but its nice to hear the plan is for Croft to go where he sees fit.

Croft - “The plan is to play on the ball and push the team around the park both sides of the field.

“As a halfback you want to have that dominant role and try and open up your players like Milford and Isaako.

**Risky - drops to cheapie if one pops up. But happy for 55-60 from this CTR pairing until legitimate options pop up

Really keen for these middy hookers. I really want a gun hooker (CS9 or McInnes) too but can't have everything.

This team really relies on Fifita being in form (knee), a decent cheapie WFB (Coates?) And some cheapies for NPR. Depth is also terrible. But willing to risk things early season.
    Thanks for sharing?

How confident are you in Levi?

If Andrew Fifita goes well in their trial match and is looking fit I wonder how many people will be tempted to start with him over Haas?

He wont be job sharing with another specialist hooker, so you would think the backup would only get maybe 20 mins for Levi to catch his breath

Lol someone keeps constantly downvoting my posts and I know who it is, doesn’t bother me though as I know it’s a reflection of how childish they are (you won’t bully me off the site, try harder whilst I laugh over here)!

I just have more motivation to once again beat this person this season.
