I love SJ. He should go well. Still have a strong pack to play behind and Nikora to put through holes. There's more uncertainty around him though. He plays next to an establishes half in Townsend and he's been more injury prone lately. Cleary is the safer bet at the same price. Could do a swap during Origin though

Yup, trouble with SJ is he hasnt got through a full season of footy since 2016. For me that type of stat puts a line through any 'gun' priced player. Sorry, should clarify that - puts a line through them to start the year. Happier to take the risk on someone like SJ mid year, after he's had his inevitable time off (i.e. last year he was a great pick up mid season...)

If I don’t go Cleary, I’m thinking Ben Hunt. He might be 50/50 to play R12 too. I just wish he was a bit cheaper given the risk

As misleading as the “NRL star” angle is, the biggest issue I have with the reporting is framing it as a tragedy... because although it is, it gives the impression that this was an accident or that a mass murderer is also a victim. Some of the reporting might be because the police haven’t said anything official yet, but even ABC last night has footage of him being a great dad etc, which is just as irresponsible until all the facts are known. The only time we report criminals with an empathetic slant is middle aged white dudes slaughtering their own family.

Anyway, apologies for the non-footy rant but had to get it off my chest because it’s been bothering me since I first heard the news.

Yup, a lot of unknowns here for sure. I havent read any of the reports, I dont feel I need to. All that is important is that 5 lives were lost and three of those were kids (the woman/mother/wife in the car has also now passed away). To me that's a tragedy, regardless of the hows and whys....

Just reset and built a team that I'm happy with at first glance but holy shit there are a lot of mid-rangers there. I know plain guns & cows is pretty dead as a simple strategy at the moment, but might have gone too far.

Without naming your players, interested to know the texture of people's teams at the moment...

Yeah I’m expecting my current team not to be close to my final team, and not touching it much at all atm, so not exactly an accurate side. but I’m 100% definitely looking to make this less mid-range by R1

On trial team lists, the Bulldogs look like Britt and Stimson are fighting for one spot.

I definitely called Britt first if he gets the start!

Just avoiding the Drinkwater situation in advance.

To settle this "called it first" problem, I suggest Fantasy turns into one giant draft competition.

This means whoever goes first gets Payne Haas, it then goes down the line until player 467 gets Keenan Palasia

The next 100,000 or so players unfortunately don't get any players this year (Fanhub still manage to get there score wrong most weeks)

Any time a new player gets added to the system there is a mad scramble to sign him up which always results in the Fanhub servers crashing.

Then the handful of players that have someone half decent hope Payne Haas goes down injured so they have a chance at winning, and everyone else sits here and whinges about Taupau's minutes and how the scorers missed an obvious tackle break.

Missing a standout captain, when others will captain Haas/Lolo/Cook/Smith

Croker doesn't really have any value, is priced at what he averaged last year and I don't think he will be in top 2 CTRs end of year meaning bit expensive to start with - if set on 500k+ CTR, Burns/Aubusson has more value being priced under average

I think Flanagan will take back seat and Keary will do majority of the work, and he might not even GK ahead of SST but will have to see WCC to see who is GK

I actually think we'll end up with a heap of cheap frf to choose from and it will be a matter of choosing the best one. Josh Kerr could be one to look out for. Sounds like Graham is managing a neck issue and could play less mins.

Russell Packer has some mystery foot injury and hasn't been able to do ball work all off season. Talk is he may end up being medically retired. Could mean big minutes for Haas.

In other Tiger news - the trials will be broadcast on their website.

Be easier just to acknowledge I called Britt first?

Ergh, i don't know if we should continue posting about this here, a friend of mine saw it happen (she was the initial call to 000 and has been dealing with police to give statements/etc). There is no doubt he killed them intentionally.

    Pretty much this.

What he lacks in creativity, he makes up for in tenacity. He is always in the game, he follows the ball everywhere. He covers more metres than any other player on the field. When a break is made, he is the first guy backing up on the inside. He'll continue to get those tries because he is there to take the opportunity when it arises.

Yeah, Kerr is one I will probably have on the bench if he's in the 17 which I guess he will be. I reckon he may start slow but looks great and will see more of a role in the team as the season goes on.
