For what it's worth, the back 5 for the broncos in this weekend's trial is: Greg Eden, Marion Seve, Jordan Kahu, Aaron Whitchurch, Kodi Nikorima

Could be an indicator of how far down the pecking order he is but Ben Henry wasn't included in the 9s squad for the Warriors. He's not that good of player to be able to sit it out and have a spot waiting for him.

With your old boy Seve on the wing. Whitchurch has been killing it at training by all accounts also (training the house down)SI wrote:
Yeah, they just named Kahu in the centres for the Cows trial. Looking forward to seeing Carlin and Timu in the Nines.

Last time I saw Eden he was chewing up the metres. Niko should go well after his run with tbe NZ squad at the back end of last year giving him some confidence.SoylentGreen wrote:For what it's worth, the back 5 for the broncos in this weekend's trial is: Greg Eden, Marion Seve, Jordan Kahu, Aaron Whitchurch, Kodi Nikorima

It's pretty funny - this trial they made a big deal about it here in Bundy and people paid stupid money to get tickets - now they're all crying about being scammed because none of the star players are coming. Seriously wonder about some people in this place.

I've joined all of the leagues, look forward to competing this year.
I've done well, have not tinkered with the team all week.

Wow! I mean, it's always disappointing, but any actual League fan knows how trial teams are picked (especially for the first trial). And any genuine LEague fan would also know the Nines are on at the same time.

Yeah - some people have paid $90 a ticket to see Joe Boyce and Josh Chudleigh run around. I wouldn't have minded going to have a look but the prices were a total ripoff - ABC local radio is broadcasting the game here so I'll keep an ear on it.

Just some thoughts on those thinking about running with Parcell...
My biggest problem is that you only have one spare hooker spot, and you better believe you can mess that up. Sure Parcell might be a hit and start earning some coin, but contemplate the event in which he doesn't, and it leaves the only reserve spot with a very large discrepancy in value to top dollar. How will you raise the 400k to turn him into the gun hooker that you suddenly realise you should have started the season with? If you are selling other guns early on, your season is over already; and it is impossible to farm that much cash quickly from your cows. You then have the tedious exercise of pinning all your hopes on the emergence of a rising mid-ranger, which will inevitably also go bust and leave you tearing your hair out. I see this phenomenon in rookie teams often, I call it: The Scott Moore effect

$90 for a trial game? Get. Fucked. That's mental!
I'm paying $80 to see Jimmy Carr tonight, I know what I would get more enjoyment from.
Trials should be free. End of story.

This! Exactly.
Although I think Scott Moore got most of us
Completely agree mate. It's okay to do it in the halves, because you have the flexibility with 4 slots, but getting it wrong in your rakes can be terminal. It's a long way back when traditionally Hookers are your highest averaging position and you end up with 1 less than the rest of the comp by picking the wrong rookie.

Hang on!
Scott Moore was nothing less than a superstar in that CAS team of yours! Absolute GEM!
