Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
Panthers have pretty much zero depth in the back row. They have Taylor, Cartwright, Peachey, Merrin (who might have to spend time at prop) and Yeo (very much fifth on the list and who played half his games at centre last year) and that's pretty much it. In the unlikely event that all five are fit at the same time (this is the Panthers) minutes could be up in the air but I'm not massively concerned...

The fact Parker was playing Prop means Griffin has no idea what he was doing so might as well chuck out all hopes at working out what happens at the Panthers.

I realised this half way through but didn't stop, also doesn't help much not knowing who played in what games because those stats are a mish mash

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
With Barrett naming Jake Trbojevic as captain for the 9's I'm beginning to think the likelihood of him playing those big minutes in the regular season are looking more likely if for no other reason than Barrett obviously rates him highly.
I did find a way to add him into my team without getting rid of any of my guns but it does leave me a little short on potential money makers. What I did was replace Edwards with Bhana, swapped B Lawrence to a nuffie and swapped out Alvaro for J Turbo. I don't really like the idea of having 2 players who will just sit there and make no money as an NPR (If Bhana doesn't make the team) but you know with all the uncertainty around the minutes everyone will get I wonder if the potential upside for Trbojevic is worth running with 2 NPR's. Thoughts?
My 4 reserves I had were Hodgson, Alvaro, Edwards and P Carter. Going by rough averages that's around 140 points a week. My new 4 reserves would be Hodgson, J Turbo, Carter and J Niko which is roughly around the same points on average assuming J Niko makes decent scores but I'm starting to think the potential for better scores than my original team is there. It's all guesses and assumptions at this point but it's making me ponder since guys like Edwards aren't even a sure thing to make their team.

Add to that he couldn't grasp how to use 12 interchanges properly, he'll be clueless about what to do with 10 - Probably pull a double J-Wallace and only play 15....
Now that i think about it, between putting a knife in Peter's back & making Jarrod ride the pine for 80 minutes more often than not, he seems to hold a particular grudge against Wallace's, maybe he really really hated Braveheart?

Cant quote from locked threads? Cut and paste job from thread 2
2 get ons in past 2 years(Lodge 2015) for 2 arrests and 1 in jail. Holmes has got the rest of the year to achieve the jail component
"Great to have you back mate! Who are your early, early get ons this year?"
"Thanks Welshy. I like JTurbo and Holmes. Both with a solid year of first grade under their belt now i expect them to both have massive years. JTurbo seems to have a big motor, its just a matter of the makeup of the manly pack which is still a bit of a mystery and if lawrence stays. Not sure if there is competitiom for holmes at fullback? I know there was early talk of Bird playing there but not sure if this is BS. Out of two probably Holmes will end up in jail"

Pretty sure Koro was signed first as a 6 SG so your spot on that things changed once walker arrived. True this re not getting a start over these players MTB but surely hes in the 17. He would have to share with Parcell then. I cant see him playing reggies

Rochrow is a great name, especially if read in a Scooby Doo voice

Talk of the T-Rex contract year has led to this team
Smith Seggy
Graham Woods Lawrence (nuffie)
Surgess Cartwright Tapine Sue T-Rex (MCK)
DCE Hastings (Taylor Niko)
Lawrence Hurrell (Auvua'a Gutherson)
Ferguson Gordon Copley (Anderson Mitchell)
Hurrell is a pick based on "training the house down" which is not always a good move.
Not sold on Blake Ferguson either.
also involves playing Tony Williams, and I'm not sure I have the cojones to keep him in my team for round 1.
My logic on T-rex is that he is cheap enough that if he comes out in round 1 and scores 40 points while playing 80 minutes he is cheap enough that you don't have to pull the squad apart to get him in.

ya. the biggest problem with working out the panthers forwards minutes is griffin. i wonder if he's learnt anything since being sacked.

Merrin is in my draft side and he should see at least 60 min i hope. He is a marquee signing on big bucks so should have a lot of involvement. At least that's my logic anyway.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
Anyone looking at Tim Grant? If he gets his minutes up to 45-50 a game he should theoretically see a 10pt increase in average and a decent price rise. I didn't really watch much of him at Souths, was he a flop?

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
i reckon merrin spends alot of time at prop but its not necessarily a bad thing for his scores.
