Thinking of running with a back row of Parker,Surgess,Rochow,Turner and Sue plus a NPR, I think the later 3 are all value for money and priced below their potential scoring value.

That would be a very impressive back row but Turner & his injury history would put me off but you could easily replace him if need be.

Yeah WL I am a huge fan of Turners and his injury history is a concern but he is still very young and as you say if it doesnt pan out to bad, but I feel he has the motor to go all day and loves the hard stuff.

I considered Turner but just his injury history has put me off. It scares me to think what could happen to the poor lad next as I think he is a genuinely nice bloke.

Yeah AR I'm a big fan of his as well & it just goes to show how mentally strong he is to deal with what he's gone through & the disappointment & come back from where he was. I love players who really rip in & go hard & Turner is one of those players. Really he's a bargain for the quality of player he is & it might just be worth the risk to start with him. Surely he can't get injured again. Worst case scenerio you have to replace him & McQueen is around the same price who I also reckon will also have a good year.

All this talk about Parcell has me thinking of running him as my 2nd hooker but using him as a npr & getting an extra gun frf, 2fr or hlf & playing them. From a points scoring scenario there wouldn't be much difference.

if he gets the starting role it would allow for a lot more combos in the teams. Seggy and JNiko vs Parcell and A.Reynolds.

Like I said in a previous post I know little of Parcell but if he is to keep Api out he must be worth having a look at the very least.

Still working my way through the thread but picked this up. Raiders have a bit of depth at centre with Brenko and possibly Rapana/Sisa (though those two are more likely to be fighting it out for the wing spot), however BJ does look like he has trimmed down a lot (which I think was only part of his problem, the other part was doing dumb shit like shoulder charges). This photo was posted just before xmas, perhaps Sia has got in his ear about it.

Definitely agree that Hurrell and Lafai look less risky atm. Worth keeping in the back of your mind though.

Very similar playing style to Granville. Pretty sure like Granville he played fullback during his younger playing days then made the switch a few years back.

I can see the Titans doing a lot of defence so both Taia & McQueen could get good tackle counts with 40+ tackles easily a game. With McQueen being 52k cheaper he could be a great pod. Thoughts.

I think he McQueen could get through a decent amount of work there, seems like decent logic to me.

Barrett has named Jake T as captain for the nines squad. Its a pretty no name team, but includes some old heads in B-Law, Buhrer & Mateo.

    Must rate the kid.

-A bit of a POD move with Hodgson but I'm not a fan. Would rather pay the extra and get someone more reliable like Lichaa who is a bit of a POD this year.
    -Very solid front row
-Going expensive with your 2nd row will be the deal breaker for your team's success this season I think. Bodene is a great POD and if Stuart sorts out Fensom's minutes he will be too. Not a fan of Whitehead given you have Fensom. I know they play different roles but I don't usually like doubling down on 1 position from the same team unless there is a cash cow involved. Someone like Rochow might fit better there.
-Your expensive 2nd row has meant you aren't able to afford the gun halves and have had to settle for Austin. While Austin will score well, he is too much up and down for me and would prefer him as a 2nd half along side someone more stable such as DCE, Hunt, A.Reynolds etc...
-Lawrence should do well but like you I'm not a fan of Waqa. If you are after a cash cow why not look at Copley, or Lafai/Hurrell if you wanted to go a bit more expensive
-Two big PODs in your WFBs. Not sure how much Moylan can increase by and to me he has always seemed to be in that mix between not quite a gun and not a mid ranger who has potential. Gordon is a solid and common pick while Slater could go very well with an easy start of the season if I recall.

Cheers mate, will ditch Waqa. Think you're right about Lafai if he can start at the Dragons. Also, Whitehead is quite a lot of money for someone who might get used as an impact player off the bench. One to keep an eye on during the season.

Ryan Hoffman is a possible smokie at $301k. Not sold on Rochow yet - think the Knights look unstable generally.

Speaking of 9's, anyone got some tips for relatively unheard of players to keep an eye out for? Going to have to choose whether I stay up late or wake up early based on which games I want to watch vs. missing so I'd find it handy info.

From Raiders I'm keen to see the three Crokers running around (though that's not 'unheard of' players) and Kato Ottio. I don't think Ottio will play 1st grade for us this year but he came from the PNG Hunters on a trial contract until Ricky liked what he saw and apparently offered him a 1 year contract as well as naming him in the 9's. Gotta cheer for the underdogs like that. Plays 2nd row, Centre and Wing apparently.

Think I might have to catch a Cowboys game too just to see Mango run around.

Interested to see how that Martin bloke from the Panthers goes. Didnt the Tigers let him go? Could turn out to be a massive mistake.

Especially if they can't resign Brooks and Moses.
