It's probably too long before he gets a go in 1st grade when Soward &/or Wallace go down. If they move Moylan to the halfs that would be a mistake as he's much better staying at f/b.

Current team. Pretty happy with my 17, less sure about cash-generating potential or the fact I have only $2k in the bank:

    Smith, Lichaa
    JGraham, JTrbo, Matulino (Griffin)
Surgess, Taumalolo, Cartwright, Tapine (MCK, Bhana)
    DCE, Hastings, ATaylor (JNik)
    Hurrell, Auva'a (BHenry, Crichton)
    Ferguson, Gordon, Slater (Gutherson, Anderso)

Wallace has been injured a lot on and off the past few seasons, plus they have a ready made fullback in DWZ. Hard to tell how Moylan would go in the HLFs, many said Milford wouldnt cut it yet 12 months later and here we are.

Wouldn't be entirely surprised to see Te Marie & Captain Moylan start Rd 1 in halves.

Gould signaled his intention to move things along by appointing Griffin....and Wallace/Soward clearly aren't the future of the club.

That's a nice balanced team with a strong bench. I like it.

Taumalolo is always a personal favourite of mine. Last two seasons ive had him in my team from day 1 till the last day. Never could bring myself to trade him out! He is very fustrating tho. Long spells on the bench, lots of mid range scores etc. And hardly ever scores a try!

Really? Thats surprising. I thought Brooks would be the one to fall down the pecking order.

Unless he's had one hell of an off season Brooks is behind Moses imo.

    Smith, Seg
    Woods, Graham, Snowden, Lawrence
Merrin, Ah Mau, Rochow, Welch, Bhana, Nuffie
    DCE, JReynolds, Hastings, Taylor
    Copley, Auva'a, Henry, MCK
    Gordon, Mansour, Gutherson, Nuffie, Nuffie

Anyone care to take a bash critiquing this? Have thought about switching Ah Mau back to FR and going Cartwright over Snowden then using the extra cash upgrading elsewhere but with Cartwright feels like i'm taking too many flyers on mid rangers

That team is solid as Welshy. IMO not much needs to be done till team lists. Maybe watch trials, 9's etc and make a few tweaks etc but otherwise you are good to go.

Good looking team but FWIW I think Bromwich >>>> Snowden for the same price. Even with that you might get hit with lack of DPP in the front row and wouldn't be massively happy running all of Copley, Auva'a and Gutherson in scoring 17, so maybe downgrade one of your props to DPP Sue and turn one of your WFB nuffies into someone who can score.

    - I think Lichaa will score solid and be decent, but I like Granville (potential), Peats (Byes) a bit more than him.

    - Graham is good, again I think a few guys at his price have more potential Woods/McGuire/JDB.

    - Matulino not sure about the pick. When starting at Prop he averaged 55mins a game and an average score of 48 points. Now while this is solid, and he has shown he can pump out 60+ scores on occasion. I don't see any reason that he would suddenly become consistent. I would look at guys mentioned above in the same vein as Graham.

    - Taumalolo is inconsistent. I don't see his minutes changing either, however if they do change and he gets 80 minutes he will be great. I would look at upgrading to an actual gun or downgrading to the likes of Rochow, Ah Mau, Taia,

    - Cartwright is a good pick if he gets 60+ minutes. Which I don't see happening with Peachey, Merrin, Taylor and Yeo all at the Panthers. If anyone can remind me how Griffin split up his 2RF minutes at the Broncos that would be appreciated.

Only things that stand out to me.

It's also about application. What's your pre season sauce ? Are they in the closet/cupboard ? You don't improve if you don't make the effort. He's being beat in all the drills. There's already talk about a deal with the Bulldogs to take him off our hands in 2017.

I will have a go with my vast knowledge of players:

    HOK: Awesome
    FRF: Awesome
    2RF: I like a lot
HLF: I almost ran with this but went 3 cheapies
CTR: Same problem I have at the moment
    WFB: Should go well

In short I have now copied your team! (Joke)

Who would be your 4th reserve?

Good evening all. How was the off season?

It's good to finally have the footy almost back.. I hope you are all well rested.

The Cuban Mafia Sand Slugs are well rested. The boys have been in Cuba partying with the daughters of the Cuban drug cartel no less. Reward I guess for a quadruple premiership winning 2015!

Bring on 2016. Look forward to some more banter.

    - I like McGuire over Graham, but that can be personal so no worries there.
    - As Rhinoceroo said Bromwich > Snowden for mine. But shouldn't be much of a problem.
    - Lawrence is interesting, if he steps back into starting he will be good. However coming back from serious injury with Trbojevic and Myles most likely ahead of him as well as Burgess and Lussick. He does have an alright PPM but he will need 40mins per game to even potentially make cash and be a viable option which I don't think he can.
    - I wouldn't look at Cartwright.

From Raiders I'm keen to see the three Crokers running around (though that's not 'unheard of' players) and Kato Ottio. I don't think Ottio will play 1st grade for us this year but he came from the PNG Hunters on a trial contract until Ricky liked what he saw and apparently offered him a 1 year contract as well as naming him in the 9's. Gotta cheer for the underdogs like that. Plays 2nd row, Centre and Wing apparently.

Think I might have to catch a Cowboys game too just to see Mango run around.

Reubenn Rennie CTR Bulldogs.. solid strong ball runner and defender.. in the best shape of his life after watching him play rep teams for Counties Manukau and Kiwis 18s, and U20 for Storm. He's one to watch.
