The Raiders pack will be a nightmare but to me Papalii is the one to get @ 400k, a dpp & will definitely play 80 minutes. He's never quite realised his potential so this year could be the year.

Last week in the Charity Shield, McGuire named Hymel Hunt in the centres with Goodwin and had Auva'a on the bench. Now this week he's done that again. Looks like there is a chance Auva'a might not be named in round 1.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 6
Taukeiaho last year when he played near enough to 50 minutes or more:
R7 62 mins - 58 points
R14 80 mins - 68 points
R18 62 mins - 65 points
R22 50 mins - 34 points
R24 48 mins - 49 points
R25 53 mins - 26 points (46-10 flogging, so I can forgive)
R26 47 mins - 37 points
Surely he's either lock or second row and plays at least 50 minutes per game with Cordner & JWH out - he's the big winner over Aubs I think.

I think that is a reasonable prop rotation for Pauli Pauli to have value as an NPR. Wouldn't want him in my 17 though
What about Stockwell starting prop? I'm all over him if that's the case

This is better news, again could just be a slight reshuffle whilst Fensom is out but Sticky seemed pretty adamant that Whitehead would be primarily played in the right edge in his interview. TLT will sort out all the madnessPacey's Best wrote:

Posted a few times about Tauk when he plays 50+ minutes for a 50 avg. He has been locked into my team since the Cordner injuryFloor Pie wrote:Taukeiaho last year when he played near enough to 50 minutes or more:

Mind you Hunt is only 162k & with the added benefit of being a dpp so I'd rather Hunt got the pick.

I looked at Papalii but his last few round scores really bothered me a few high 20s and 30s if I can remember and only seems to score well when he scores a tryWhite Lightning wrote:The Raiders pack will be a nightmare but to me Papalii is the one to get @ 400k, a dpp & will definitely play 80 minutes. There are benefits for each of Evans (lower price, increased minutes & extreme ppm), Aubussen (if named in 2nd row will hit 50 & play 80) & SST (monster wrecking ball causing carnage & great production)
I'm favouring Evans atm as due to his price it gives me a better 4th reserve & if he gets 40-45 minutes he'll score 40-50 & will get great price increases as he's priced at 30 points.

Realise this is fantasy talk but if you like real money tipping comp a mate of mine steered me into this last year:
I don't know the guys who run it. You might have to say who told you about it. 50 bucks to enter but top 5 pay at least a grand so likely to beat your office comp! I finished 20th last year for 350 notes.
It gave me this link to share if inviting newbies, so here goes!
http://nrl.onlinesportstipping.com/register.asp?ref=heathcram
NOTE - I just realized the person with most referrals wins a jersey. I've no interest in that so in the spirit and integrity of this post, should I win because of you lot I will donate the jersey to the forum for highest placed finisher from our SUG wins the jersey (raiders obv )

There's no reason you can't have Taukeiaho and Evans with Cordner and JWH out for 10 rounds. Evans looked like he's put on some size, he's always been a bit of a string bean but looked a lot bigger in the all stars game.

True enough mate. You're right about Evans filling out. He is a monster. NAS is the same. How can 2 individuals that are so young be so friggin huge.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 6
I don't know much about Hymel Hunt but from what I hear from Storm fans the guy is terrible and they're glad to see him go. Madge has his ways but I don't see Auva'a not starting in Round 1, he's just on the bench for trials for impact I'd say.
Hopefully there's somewhere that records stats for the WCS matches, that Roosters match should answer most of the questions we have. If Evans plays big minutes and his workrate matches I'll have to decide who to move on in my FRF's out of Lawrence and LAM.

Welshy wrote:How did the Raiders backrow line up last year? Left edge, middle, right edge? Whitehead been named to start on the right edge for their only trial against the dragons, Fensom out injured but I thought he was played through the Middle last year or is Whitehead playing in his vacated right edge spot?
Papa played right edge normally, but he played a few games at the end of the year at left edge. At an interview with Ricky about the trial, someone asked him what plans are with Whitehead (whether he would spend time in the middle or edges) and Stuart said he would play right edge as that's where he was comfortable. Combine that info with Soli recently mentioning that he himself will probably spend some time in the middle (as well as other blokes with versatility) and Stuart claiming Papa wouldn't play prop this year... you would have to assume that means - Papa left edge, Whitehead Right, Soli bench likely to spend time at prop and possibly spell Feno for a bit. Tapine bench back row. Or something like that. If we do get Tapine released this year I think I'll reconsider my Vaughan pick, I think without him Vaughan will do increased minutes (as Soli will still spend a bit of time at back row), however if Soli gets pushed to spend more time in the middle then perhaps Vaughan doesn't see the increase I was hoping for.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 6
Here is the article that talked about Soli maybe spending time in the middle. Its not much to go on but nothing is this time of year :
http://www.canberratimes.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/raiders-story--20160213-gmt94i.html
"He [Tapine] is definitely a fit forward and with the interchanges going down, you need those guys who can play long minutes," he said.
"I played against him last year and he had some pretty good stuff.
"From what I've heard he's pretty agile, he's tall, he's got some really good raps on him and he's young.
"He might even be big enough to play in the middle and cover a few positions."
Soliola said there was a chance he may also spend more time in the middle with Canberra lacking the depth at prop it has in other positions.
The Raiders boast huge depth in the back row and players with big engines like Soliola could use the reduced interchange to their advantage.
"I think it might be OK for a lot of the more mobile and versatile guys who can play a few different roles," he said.

Yeah listened to that interview with Sticky mate, nothing was set in stone but it definatley sounded positive in regards to Whitehead, he won't get shifted around to cover the middle so hopefully plays big minutes on the right edge, makes sense having Solly shift around and play the longer term players in their favoured positions building the team going forward!
