Correct me if i'm wrong but this is just about the same as 2021 right? Feel like guys like Gus/Keaon lose middle status and I'd be shocked if Burton got centre lol

Peachey and Dylan Walker definitely changed as they were CTR eligible last year

Brimson also I think from memory was just WFB last year

No idea how they track successful to hand offloads - may be just added on but not stat on NRL website. Not subjective though which helps

They used to have "effective" and "ineffective" offloads as different scoring stats (or maybe that was supercoach), so its almost certainly tracked somewhere, even if not publicly available yet.

Also, these 4 trades being available each round from the halfway point, huge. Being able to milk a whole herd of cows; covering for multiple injuries whilst still improving your team; using a warchest to bring in 4 guns at once. Game changing moves available, and players will really need to work hard at saving trades to be able to make use of such flexibility in the later game. Being low on trades and not being able to benefit from such OP rule changes will see your team quickly left in the dust. Thats a lot of pressure on picking a solid starting team with an unfamiliar scoring system.

    Its going to be chaos

From rounds 1-19 you get 2 less trades than last year, but 8 extra opportunities to use them.

The flipside is that the Harvey-Norman free trades bonus is already locked in to come in round 20.

I haven't touched anything on the site. Nice to know its still doing its thing!

The changes seem pretty fun tbh, i like it.

Are the player prices for 2022 adjusted in line with new points scoring or are they still relative to their scoring from last season?

Prices are based (at least partially) on the new scoring

You can see priced averages on this thread - https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/t1787-2022-player-prices

or just divide new price by 12,452

Changes were posted as an image - which is probably why you can't see them

    Changes are

Salary cap reduced to $9.4 million

32 trades to start the season. 4 extra trades added in round 20
Net impact is 2 extra trades

    new scoring stats

six again infringements minus 1 point

    escape from in-goal 2 points

kick metre points. Now 1 point for 30 metres, previous was 1 point for 20 metres

tackle busts now 2 points instead of 3

offloads have been split into offloads to hand 4 points, offloads to ground 2 points

No word on squad size, so assumption is same as last year

I guess we can all look forward to, "where the fuck are my players TB's" complaints being well and truly surpassed by, "my Player X got an inside the 10 ruck infringement when everyone else's Players Y and Z didn't get any penalty at all" complaints.

    Happy days ahead  Wink

    Forwards a-go-go

Trbo would lose 7 points a game with the TBs
Cleary loses 10 points a game from KM + TB (but all his competition likely to be similarly hit too)

Will ahver to track down stats for offloads / 6agains etc to see who likely beneficiaries are

Trbo would probably gain those points back with escapes from in-goal...

I like the reduction in KM points, they're way overrated. Changes will require some thinking though, which is good.

NRL Fantasy Website is able to be accessed again in pre-season mode using the same method as last year.
Should all run the same where squads will be wiped once the site goes live but prices are all updated.
This years code is let the magic begin

    1. Go to fantasy.nrl.com
    2. Scroll to bottom where you can see "FOLLOW NRL FANTASY"
    3. Click the text roughly 15 times
    4. Text will be replaced by an input box
    5. Type let the magic begin and hit enter

Note: Some devices may require the page to be refreshed before it loads the login screen

I will kick things off with an early attempt at a team.

Much harder this season than last year to have a number of guns. I just went with Cleary, rather than the Turbo combo, and could still only fit at best 6 guns in.

Obviously relying on a number of cheap guys getting decent roles, will see how it plays out.

    Lawton
    McInnes Fainu James
    Blore Davey
    Cleary (C) Hastings
    Aitken Bird
    Teddy Pappy Suaalii

    RFM Piakura Starling Burton
    Pereira King Walters Koula

    $38k remaining
