Will be either him or Talakai, with reports suggesting Wilton is the favourite.

Apart from last season, has had a low of 34 average.

12 months ago he had never averaged under 34 even once. What a great buy that was.

You are correct, he's not dogshit and I think he'll end up a decent first grader.

But there is also a bit of a precedent for gun halves that don't kick on - the players that have the high footy IQ early but then can't step up when the players are bigger and faster in the higher grade. Then their contemporaries catch up on the footy side.

Beau Henry was U20s player of the year for the Dragons. He's been playing the third tier of footy in NSW since his mid-20s. A lot of other gun halves at age group have struggled to kick on too. Elgey and Ash Taylor were player of the year as well.

Interested to hear your thoughts on him? 5-6 weeks of 45-50 average will do nicely. Seems like a great option to start the year off.

Could be making things up, isn’t Sam Williams regularly player of season in NSW cup? His ability to kick on is limited

I'd be pre confident in Wilton getting the starting role over Talakai, much better defender and with Fitzy as coach that is his bread and butter.

I've seen quite a few Jets games at Henson over the last 5-6 years, and some of the halves that are below average at NRL level absolutely gun it down one level. Dan Mortimer was one. They are good footy players, but maybe not quite big enough, or strong enough, or disciplined enough, or reaction speed is a fraction too slow. It's a pretty fine line really. Especially for halves IMO.

There are guys in q cup that are (now) veterans and consitently top few halves of the comp every year. Sam scarlett and Darren Nicholls are two that come to mind.

The courier mail (clickbait merchants) are now running a story that Reynolds could play next week.

ikin confirmed that it was the broncos own protocols that originally ruled him out. Club doctors will meet tomorrow to discuss. Reynolds will be out of isolation on wednesday. So could do captains run on thursday

With all the cheap hok options not looking that good and Grant out round 1

Is there anything wrong with just locking in a guy like Cook other then just it makes it tough to fill out the rest of the squad.

I'm just thinking Cook v Ipap/Angus etc.. I'd much rather the MID however it's the gap in mid range/cheap Hok versus cheap/mid range Halve/Edge that I'm starting to think the gap is bigger in.

Basically is there a big gap in Cook v Angus in value or am I overthinking it?

Right now I have been able to fit in Cook Haas Ipap Fifita Cleary Pap

If you think Grant is the guy you would have had if not out in round 1, don't let that stop you. You know he is playing round 2.

No. I got him last year when he was super cheap, and the guy was complete cabbage. I think he scored less than 10 points in 80 minutes a handful of times. Don't do it.

1 more number for Survivor would make the ideal amount. If interested please join soon. If already joined don't worry if we don't fill that last spot

To be honest not sold on Grant either it was more just bitting the bullet on a prem hooker + better cheapie versus prem Crichton plus cheap hookers

Don't really see any hooker I like except Randall. Just working out why nobody is talking about Mahony or Cook as options and all the talk is Grant or Cheese

FYI I'm new to NRL , but been reading through the forum every day to be able to go well with my friends in my league who have are all big NRL fans

Just wanted to thank everyone as I'm learning lots

I am thinking ill go Grant. Dont trust Cook.

I also dont think Melb change their game plan too much from last year (re grant smith sharing roles) so maybe i wont get Grant. When it comes to making a squad i might realise there is no fitting him in
