Having that much cash leftover isn't an issue if you believe you have picked a team full of players who you think will generate you the cash you need to eventually build your 17-19 guns? That cash will come in handy for emergency upgrades over the first 3-5 weeks no?

That is perfectly correct, with H2H you don't have to worry about spending all your cap. However if there is someone you aren't sure about upgrade them to Gun right away. Why wait?

Depends how strong your league is.

If its ultra-competitive and every win is vital you might not be able to afford giving away wins by starting weak.

If you don't think it will hurt your chances of making finals, then giving up some early points to build cash is a perfectly cromulent strategy

I know how you feel. If I go Fifita and Surgess Ill have 7k leftover. If I go Surgess and Merrin I have 65k leftover. That cash would make upgrading easier down the track.

    Rochow or Whitehead? And why.

I personally would go with Rochow as his minutes seem more stable and less 80 minute players around him. However it does sound like Whitehead has more potential.

I am still very much considering downgrading Kyle Turner and running an adrenaline-fueled nuffie.
That cash could turn my Cartwright into Cooper, Whitehead into J.Graham, or Ferguson into Inglis with cash to spare. My last decision is doing my head in, because Turner was just the best I could fit in the cap after I selected the team I wanted. He is nothing to me. And the money is so delicious spent elsewhere.

I'm sorry if I am offending you. The problem with internetting is that its hard to convey subtext, but it is rarely my intention to be snarky.

Anyway, I still think Henry is a big trap and he'll get 1-2 scores out of him at most. I might have him in my team because all the other options are equally rubbish, but that's only in fantasy where you can get price rises from the start.

Will go nowhere near him in SC/DT where you have to get 3 games out of people - I can always trade him in after round 2 in those comps if he ends up killing it.

    If, and a massive IF!

Turner stays injury free he will make a fair amount of cash and post some fairly decent scores

much to my dismay i have to dump either Rochow or Whitehead and Turner will be the guy i bring in over Grant/Evans

Thoughts on J Turbo? He should average more this year I'm guessing.

Any obvious reasons why he won't?

I had the same issue. But I was told by everyone it wasn't a wise move and to include at least one more gun keeper. I have done that but still have 166k left over, and I'm not spending it. Going to wait for Evans or Packer to ripen then upgrade them to a gun.

EDIT: I should point out I am more interested in overall vs H2H.

Sure having some cash gives you greater range when your are swapping your poorly performing players out for ones which look to be starting the season solid, but at the same time each dollar in your kitty is less spent on points. Even in head to head you have to worry about a first round matchup with somebody who has spent that 250k, which is some extra 25 points they have sunk into their team.

Edit: having cash is great, but that is a whole heap riding the pine

The cash h2h comp I'm playing has a round 4 start, so I've got a few weeks to get it right which is good.

Thanks for the advice though. I'll see what areas I can upgrade...

I went for this theory in H2H one year... it didn't work cos my weakened team due to underspending the cap by 300K didn't compete enough early on, I wasted trades just to catch up, missed the semi's making my theory of having guns for semi time redundant. Not to mention not every cow made money, some stayed static.

Thanks for the advice mate. From someone who has had this experience. Might have to have a play and a tweak.

And then sort my fantasy team out after that Lol

He's in my team at the moment, not sure if he'll stay there. People are worried he's a concussion risk and they're not sure he'll keep the increased minutes he saw at the end of last season.

Without seeing either of them play yet, who is the better 4th reserve or '17th man' out of Packer and Saifiti?

Wow thanks for all the responses guys. Usually when I say something, nobody replies. Just like at home. alien

I appreciate all advice given and will look at an upgrade somewhere. I'm a fan of keeping at least 50k though. That round 2 upgrade may be vital.

Argh. The centres are doing my head in!

    Aubbs ? Guth Henry
    Gordon Slater Barba Feeny Mitchell

    Do I

    1. Fill that spot with Green.
    2. Fill that spot with Copley
    3. Change Slater to Fergo (for dpp) and fill that spot with Auva'a and play whoever of Henry, Guth or Auva'a is named, or if need be use the dpp to put Fergo in the centres and play whoever of Feeney and Mitchell is going better?

    Please Help!

    Help!

Whats happening fellas? I went to Sportal to catch up on everything pre-season and a bomb had gone off Shocked

    So i followed here.

Happy with my team, pretty much the same as everyone elses though.

One thing that is worrying me is my reserves 2RF reserves bench is all Newcastle (Rochow, Bhana, Saifiti) Maybe its my fantasy EPL background showing that as a massive red flag for me.
