This is where I'm at with Haas (and Carrigan). 13 trades left after making three but it just doesnt seem necessary to trade out one of those guns.

I'm punting BS9, Miller & Boyd so it does make it easier to hold the others. After grabbing Harris Hopgood and Ponga, I have 10 players with empty spots at edg/ctr/wfb.. really can't see anyone worth grabbing. If i can flick Burbo to someone equally cheap I might do that with 4th trade. Fainu is no use to me as I already have 3 mids.

Little surprised by the interest in Drinkwater, but I just saw he scored 57 last week. haha that explains it. I'd rather just hold off and grab Tommy Turbo at some point soon to go with Tedesco/Walsh/Manu/Bula.. I really don't need more WFBs as it is

    My 10 this week are
    Cook
    Tapine Horsburgh Harris
Hopgood Bird (could shift to ctr if i grab another edg)
    SJ Niko
    Lemu x
    Ponga x x

Its a reasonably strong 10 with just Niko the only 'shitto', fingers crossed Ponga fires up, but seems like most are grabbing him anyway.

Holds: Cleary Haas Carrigan Tedesco Walsh Preston Manu Bula ?Alamoti? Oloapu ?Burbo?

I've got 171k in the bank but maybe that is put to better use by upgrading someone (preston) to Fifita. Funnily enough I could go Alamoti to Ford (move Bird to ctr) for 130k, which is very tempting in isolation. I'm rolling with no hooker cover but hopefully that isn't an issue until round 16 bye.

I feel like there are a lot of sideways trades being posted, some people are trading in multiple mid range guys while not having many trades left.

Drinkwater seems a reasonable pick up. Has been much better the last 5 games, covers 13 and 16.

Think he's priced about what he averages so not value, but also not paying overs. For those of us with Miller I think he's worth strong consideration. Between him or Ponga for me and while I like Ponga a lot more he doesn't play next week and then some origin risk.

Surely Ponga is a wait and see this week and pick up in round 15 if he looks good?

I mean to play Devils Advocate, he could easily get another concussion this week (or hell, even at training before round 15) and/or the Blues could towel up the Maroons and Billy brings in Ponga for games 2/3.

I guess Ponga is all about risk tolerance, but for me there's too much uncertainty around him. I'm very risk averse though.

All this is true but at 420 (blaze it), its a gamble I'm willing to take.

Here for the regret post 15 mins into Knights game.

Ponga is a scary proposition. Somehow we are all forgetting that just last round he probably should have been given a category 1 HIA.

Ponga costs the same as Billy Smith and I traded his useless ass in last round

Not sure if this is an argument for or against

My only claim to fame in 12ish years is coming 1st in the Origin rounds on the forum around 2015 or so haha.

Had a random thought (although it was after a 5 hour sleep last night lol) and I'm going to go with it. Holding cleary, hynes and walsh with backs likely to atleast if they backup. Trading yeo and haas- even if they back up they might play less mins than usual. Especially as they'll likely be the 2 big min middles for NSW.

Haas yeo miller and hands to cook m.moses drinkwater and ofahengaue.

10 trades left after using these 4. Missing 4 next week so still should be OK.

PS. Appreciate the nice words re wicky + the suggestion on how to find the Scott Curtis video - I found it on there! So keen to watch it later today haha.

It's actually kinda sad I even remember that 🤣 I remember being a bit overwhelmed with all the posters doing so well and then seeing I came first during the bye rounds and being like hooolly shitt.

So bloody keen for the next 2 months of sport overall actually.

Bye rounds for nrl fantasy/sc + origin + wtc final and the Ashes!

my tv broke wrote:Hey all, been working on a community-driven 'match notes' section for the website today.

If you load up any match, beside the interchange timeline there is a 'match notes' section.

The general idea is that anyone can add a note/comment, eg X player went down injured and this is why Y player got bigger minutes, or there was a position swap at kick off eg whitehead named at lock but actually played edge, etc.

There is the option to tag the relevant players and add a 'type' ie what it relates to.

Its reasonably primitive at the moment. Any new notes get added as 'pending', you can still see any pending notes by clicking on the button. Once I approve them they just get shown as normal.

The aim is to build this out a bit so that when you are looking at a players profile, it will add this info next to the relevant game (this is where the tagging comes in) so you can see at a glance WHY a player only got 20 mins that week/whatever.

Will see how it goes I guess... Might be fun/useful to chuck in notes as relevant events happen while watching live games/etc.

With 19 trades before trades this round I thought it was going to be an easy round to navigate. It has not been easy at all. 4 trades just leaves so much room for experimentation.

Hopgood is pretty high on my list of guys I’d like but wondering if 771k is too much to spend if moving him on when the troops return. Is a combo of Ford and Carty at EDG a pretty cheap way to navigate this round and into the future.

Is Elliot starting a good sign and will he average 50+ for significantly less money than a Tohu for instance.

Elliot, Carty and Ford on the surface looks pretty sideways but all are cheap and there is at least room to make money over the next month and then flick on to keepers if things go well.

    Too much to think about

Great point - I could trade Ekatoa instead of Crossland and hope for that DPP. Crossland is hard to watch though.
Ekatoa timeframe is still TBC in the injury ward, I'd like to keep him if its only a week or two.

Apologies in advance if I do everyone (I'm probably going to captain him too 😂)

You’d be doing me a massive favour if you broke him.

I don’t want him in my team but it’s probably going to cost me over the next few weeks.

Thinking about the Hopgood talk, a lot of us are getting him back in or got him last week. Obviously, we all jumped the gun trading him out earlier but now we are talking he may be a trade out again later on? We are seeing a mass wave of us trading him back in, I think that says something. There's no doubt he will be managed when the team are at full strength at times, but is it really worth thinking that far ahead? I'm thinking if I'm getting him back at that price, he will stay all year. Just have to hold tight once one of those low games come back again.

Don’t need a MID this week(would love to get Tohu)so should I hold Haas or trade him out for another WFB or Bird? Have 11 playing at this stage

I would have been happy to just play Miller this week and upgrade him to Dylan Edwards in R14.

The opportunity for Miller to just drop heaps of cash off the bench is too high, so I think he's a trade out. If you hold him this week, he's almost certainly a trade out next week, so you aren't saving a trade by waiting on him - and is the extra 15 points you might get worth the dropped cash?

If you look at final 17 WFB options, I don't think any of them play this week (Marzhew is the best averaging player, with Garrick/Isaako also doing well)

If you have excess WFBs (Bula+Teddy + 1 more would be common) you can just trade Miller to any position you can afford

But if you want like for like the best bet is someone bye friendly and/or cheap.

Ponga is certainly cheap, and if he doesn't get called up for games 2/3 then he is fairly bye friendly too. Bye in 14 could be trouble if Teddy doesn't back up.

Obviously the HIA is a big concern - could easily go down and miss weeks again. If he is a trade out, and his price who do you witch him to? Xavier Coates?

If you don't trust Ponga, then I am not sure there are any WFBs spending a trade on this week.

Bird is the best CTR by a mile this year, so if you can afford him I think now is as good a time as any to trade him in
