Has scored fine when not moved to CTR for JAC getting injured in 2 games (34 average, which is fine for his price). At lock he scores well and getting decent minutes. Who do you upgrade him to in his position in that price range that is going to make more cash? Already have Chan, Fine needs a try to get out of the 20s, Piakura injured.

I'd be most tempted by Fainu or Willison in that price range. Willison obviously has JS issues, but is great to watch. I've fortunately got a decent bit ITB, so will likely upgrade Salmon to someone in the middle range level, but if I didn't it would be those two I was looking at

    For the base fellas:

    Fogarty
    Hopgood
    Grant
    Bodyslam
    Tohu
    Murray
    Yeo
    CARRIGUN

    For the "matchups"

    Ponga v Dragons
    Teddy v Bulldogs
    Papy v Broncos
Drinky v Titans (not that many have Drinky)
    Robson v Titans

Personally, I'm leaning Fogarty or Hopgood, however they both play on Sunday night so I might have to VC Papy

    Carrigan.

Of the gut feel "gamble" choices, I'd probably go Drinky if I had him, particularly seeing as nobody else does either, but I don't.

Tbh, I'm basing his shitto rating more on the eye test. He just does nothing good on the field, and for someone making incredibly slow cash, I find it hard to want him in my team. Would rather take a risk on another cow.

And this is why I'll be out of trades by round 14

Also, I suck at this game, so am trying to embrace the "have fun" aspect

He's high on my list too for the same reasons. It's a long list though, and he'll have to stay for now.

PonGOD might be the go at captain. 35,39,52,72, suggests 100-ish due based on the curve. Packed house Friday night in Newy. Can’t make as many errors or look as busted/disinterested as Turbo. Don’t let recency bias fool you, Dragons are rubbish and should be targeted for every matchup in every position at all times.

Btw can you imagine if Latrell played that game Turbo did? Think they would be some old timers so angry they would have spontaneously combusted

My mistake in my analysis is that it was too broad.

I did calculations based on historical PPM and minutes. Hands wasn't in the picture when making these calculations as well, so I thought the minutes would be a safe bet. He was a buy based on my minutes v historical PPM calculations, but I didn't take into account the changes in the game since the majority of his games were played in the NRL. To be fair, it's only been 4 rounds, but it really doesn't seem like the game for the hookers anymore. Furthermore, Lussick is playing for a team which has Brown, Gutho, Hopgood, and a 5/8 who are all demanding the ball. It's not like he's Grant or Api who are one of the chief playmakers.
    .

Hold up, Grant is Grant but Papy/Munster/Hughes are collectively better playmakers than their current Eels equivalents.

Maybe it's not teammate related and Lussick just fucking sucks (owner).

A lot (ok, me, but I assume also others) who owned Haas went straight to Carrigan two weeks ago.

That was the TLDR of my shallow dive into Lussick (and yes I have him).......I knew that before I bought him too

Also on Lussick, Hands only came into the team when Cartwright was ruled out. If Carty was fit would Lussick have played 80? Or was bringing Hands in always a plan.

And Tigers not only left Jayden Sullivan on the bench for the whole game, but Asu Kepoa also got 0 minutes. Not sure if that will continue every week, but it was a lot of minutes to go round in the forward pack for those who did play.

Twal was out with concussion. Back this week. Probably takes Kepoa's spot on the bench.

I am expecting Latu Fainu to make the bench this week.

Digressing from Fantasy to just talk about the Tigers. I was out at Parra yesterday and was such a great win.

Showed defensive resilience the likes of which haven't be seen in Tigers colours for a long time, especially after such a disappointing opening game. Everyone raving about Galvin, but Olam has been a big boost as well - adds a bit of strike power to our backline that had been missing. He was the sort of signing that often goes tits up for us so its pleasing to see him start so well. And Staines did a great job marking Sivo - very solid effort from him yesterday
Seyfarth shrugged off his poor game in Canberra to really contribute as well, in fact the whole forward pack his going well at the moment. Next step is to produce it consistently

I like to think I have fantasy smarts - not as much as some on the forum, but still multiple top 100 finishes. However sometimes you can still get trapped in a situation where you *can't* get the "fun" (ie good) players because you can't afford them and, because you can't do things in the optimal way, every bad decision begets another bad decision and so on and on. Happened to me during the Covid season, which was easily my worst, and looks like it might be happening again. All that remains is to be patient and grab a respectable rank during the byes if I can,

I guess what I'm saying is you're going to get smacked by variance (good or.bad) a some time or another, nobody is ever going to be at or near the top.every year, however much fantasy "best practice" you.apply. And the down years do take the "fun" out of it a bit. But shit happens, and I also *have* made some terrible choices this year which have had maximum damage in a way that in other years they maybe haven't.

Yeah I used to be good at fantasy too.
