Dammit. SMH reporting Bateman intends to honour his last 2 years at Tigers. I know nothing but perhaps a fishing expedition to get a bit of cash.

Yeah, everything suggested he was definitely done and dusted with us. Hopefully he gets some coin and stays back home.

I think this is just his way of trying to get a payout rather than be released from his contract

What's the point of Spencer sitting on the bench while you're getting pumped. Games over.

Listening on the abc app at lake tekapo (it’s snowing)….roosters getting a towelling, must be the injuries and the unfair draw

i've rarely seen such a dominant half of footy keeping a team like the roosters to nil at ht is some effort.

It was reminiscent of game 2 of Origin this year. Just completely ran over the top of them

Panthers are the best defensive team I've ever seen.
They have relentless line speed led by Kenny, Leota, JFH and Yeo which leaves no go forward coming out of your own end.
It's like slowly being strangled until someone does something dumb trying to wrestle back momentum (dropped ball, penalty, 6 again) and they have a generational attacking talent to take advantage.
Will be great to watch how Melbourne try to beat that in 3 weeks time

I mean it was the injuries and the refs. Throw JWH, Walker, BSmith and Radley out we probably only trail 18-0 at the half!
SouthsRoosters are the most consistently robbed team in the comp

The pressure from the Panthers in the first 25 minutes was relentless. I guess if you can manage to hold on until the fatigue sets in and the game slows down, then you might have a chance at beating them. Roosters did ok until Tupou made the errormultiple.scoregasms wrote:I mean it was the injuries and the refs. That's the thing with the Panthers, it's always "until" they just need the one error and they make you pay and pile it on. I honestly rate them as the greatest team I've ever seen play the game.

The back half of this season is the least interested I’ve been in footy in a long while, not even fantasy could save it this year, thought maybe the finals would bring it back but nope, can’t even remember the last game I’ve been bothered to watch siren-to-siren, guess I don't really see the point of investing in neutral games when they don’t matter, we already know the Panthers are beating the Storm in the grand final

I did an experiment this year my (a) usual team which had more high end players/cows with a few mid range players...(b) my wife's team started with more mid range players with less high end/cow players
(a) finished at overall rank 2268 (b) finished at overall rank 464
my conclusion is starting with less guns & getting more depth with mid range players is the way to go
