Didn't read where it was based on the dog's game.
I'd replace Wallace & Pangai with Hunt & FAC.
I'd also remove Milford for cultural/family/religious reasons.

It seems that we agree on one name though Suspect

Wasn't he the bloke who had more speed than Oxford St ?

I thought common sense would dictate the reason the others were named is because it was undoubtedly them in the footage, where as here, every report is saying the player can't properly be identified, so naming them would open them up to a boatload of legal action if it turned out to be a look-a-like.

Could be a few reasons why the alleged player hasn't been named:
    1. There film isn't clear enough to make out the player
    2. The club has threatened legal action against any news organisation who prints it (and let's face it, they're probably more worried about a threat by Broncos management than Eels management)
    3. Police have asked them not to while the extortion investigation is ongoing
    4. More paper sales/ratings might happen by ambiguously not naming the player. Broncos have provided basically half the SOO U18 & U20 teams the last couple of years. Maybe the want people to stay interested in a story that might be about Milf than some unknown lower grade player.

I reckon if it was hunt they'd say "Bronco international". I'm sure they want people to think Milf or Roberts.

Common sense? C'mon mate: it's the Broncos! The amount of pious declarations of impartiality are matched only by the number of snide insinuations about protectionism and carpet-sweeping.

At least HS is in a bad enough mood recently to just come out and say it. Smile Everyone else is getting splinters riding the PC fence!

Not every report. The reputable ones have used the pause button. The only one sprouting it's unclear is the parent company of the Bronco's. As KFP has said it's a legal matter and right now that's the only thing saving this known party boy.

would you mind showing me these reputable reports? every written article I've read states the person in the video can't be clearly identified.

#lurker, #moley, take your pick. Just have a look at who you're quoting, their links and the definition of reputable before you respond.

You took the bait hook line and sinker.

As has been said before a name probably won't come out, Broncos will sweep it under the rug. The benefit of being part owned by the media.

..... You understand this isn't just one of those little dumb things footballer do that is to be settled and decided by the NRL, right? It's purported to be an extremely illegal offense caught on video, surely you aren't suggesting police would ignore video evidence of someone taking drugs if the man could be positively identified because Broncos?

    Actually no.

You missed the point, your source is no more reputable than the chumps Inamed given the circumstances.

Actually no. As per all the celebrity videos and even AFL videos of clearly identifiable people racking up or smoking bongs the police can't do anything because they don't have the substance to test. So unless the person in question admits it was an illegal substance. the police have nothing but a video of a guy snorting sherbet off a toilet seat as a drunken bet or smoking tobacco.

and so did you, I wasn't looking for a link pissing contest, I was asking for the reports stating this video was definitely of the player accused.

So why wouldn't channel 7 or a Fairfax paper name him ?

So, in other words, it's the perfect little shitstorm for you guys that dream of the Broncos being taken down a peg, huh? If the video is decided to definitely be of the player in question, he's named and shamed and you have something to hang over Broncos fans heads and you finally get a brand spanking new set of jokes to play with (though not really, you'll just recycle all the stuff you used whenever Locky rumours were discussed)...

If nothing comes of it, in your mind, without even seeing the footage in question, it was definitely him in the video, you get to continue to push your little corrupt Broncos storyline AND you'll go ahead and pull out that set of jokes anyway, because the Broncos are guilty until proven innocent (though not even then, because we all know the innonence is all a cover-up  Wink )

You said it yourself it's Lockyear all over again. Where there's smoke. No coincidence Bennett left the Broncos and came back once Locky had retired. Nothing will come of this publically, but Bennett will have the spin doctors at work to explain why such an up and comer was released. The calibre of player being discussed is not bigger than Bennett unlike Locky, so the only other option is the player goes clean and commits to a weekly in house drug test.
