I don't think he's lost his gun status after 8 rounds. He averaged 47 and 50 past two seasons and has a history of some dud games here and there.

2016 he averaged 47 with lows of 8, 19, 23, 26.. six scores in the 30s and six in the 40s.

2017 he averaged 50 with lows of 12, 20, 20, 28.. four scores in the 30s and eight in the 40s.

2018 he's now priced at his current average of just under 34. Lows of 13, 17, 20 and 33 so far.

I feel he's low-risk in the sense that if he's regressed to a low 30's winger, you get exactly what you've paid for, but knowing what he's capable of and that his current scores aren't that out of line with previous years, he has a lot of potential upside.

Might be hard to average 47-50 for the entire season (in for some cracking scores if he does), but if he can average that from this point on, he'll have been a great buy at 507k, around 200k+ underpriced.

Sometimes you just gotta gamble Very Happy

That's fair enough. Like you say he surely isn't gonna lose much more so all you're risking is a trade to someone else if he doesn't work out.

I was very surprised after watching the Raiders game last week that he only scored 39. He was in everything

Rapa is down because he has only scored twice this year, averages 20 tries a season over the last 2 seasons so he is either having a down year or he is due an absolute try fest from now until end of season

Raiders poor start to the year has a fair bit to do with it, I’m of the thinking he will turn it around, will he get back to 47-50 I doubt it and would mean he scores 18+ tries in the remaining 15 rounds...if anyone can do it it’s Rapana but all he has to do is get back to his previous strike rate to improve his scores greatly

he is a good Boom prospect at the least he stays where he is and needs an upgrade later

Was thinking of doing something like Dugan/Thompson > Watson/800k forward.

Now I'm not sure with this news regarding JMK being dropped

I guess Im just looking at all possible options, and maybe I'm just being lenient due to the position being so shit this year.

What intrigues me about Norman is the way he has played the last two weeks reminds me of how he played at the start of last year. He was the form half of the comp. He then got injured and then Moses came along. Perhaps they are both finding their balance with each other but just how he is playing just seems a lot more positive.

Those shit scores were in a terrible losing side too don't forget.

No Norman for me! He needs wild attacking stats which are unsustainable to maintain an elite avg in the halves

He doesn’t consistently have the huge KM totals required to get there playing with Moses, they split too much.

Huge KM totals isn’t the be and end all with elite halves but it provides a high floor where most get 40 odd points in base stats

Because I am fucked so badly especially more so if Brown isn't there.

The usual twitter rumours after a few losses on the trot. Could be nothing in it

I'm thinking Thompson out via CWalker for Watson. Assumption is that Watson is a 40 pt half, will get to 600k and be a better player in the 13 whilst making money. How sound is that 40 pt assumption?

So this is why Sezers form kicked up a notch

RECRUITMENT NEWS | @RaidersCanberra are very close to re-signing halfback Aidan Sezer for another two years. Negotiations have reached the final stages and should be finalised in the coming week or two. @7NewsSydney #NRL

If JMK is dropped then I'm looking at bringing Watson in for him. I think he'll make $150k+. Not sure if that helps

Thompson's a 40 point WFB currently, so not really a better player in the 13 if going by the assumption that Watson averages 40. Another 77k for Thompson to make if he maintains that average and also plays Rd 13.

Freeing up the 128k could be useful, but hard to say if Watson really can hit that 40 average.

    90 mins for 25
    74 mins for 31 with a try
    18 mins for 5
    80 mins for 54 with a try

Didn't pick up any significant kick metres with Pearce's injury and is copping a few negatives. 4 MTs a game even with the 18 min game. A penalty and an error per game for -12 on average.

Thompson's 40 avg is pretty underwhelming from I what I've seen - he is closed to peaked for mine.

Last two weeks he would not even have made his b/e if not for picking up tries and he scored 27 the week before without one. These were against the Eels, Knights and Sea Eagles.

Does Watson have better base stats? And does he have the opportunity now to make those wihtout Pearce?
Edit: saw Wt more or less answered this above.

Is there anywhere to get stats on touches per game? Used to be NRL stats but with them shutting down I haven't found anywhere else

    Thanks mate!

DO you have thoughts on the Origin prospects of:

    TTrbo
    Cook
    JDB
    Vaughan
    Arrow

I'm not really up with the play on all this. I appreciate some will be unknowns but some may well be locks (like GI) so good to know for me if they are.

    Cheers

I'm leaning towards cashing out Gosiewski and bringing in Norman for Thompson, need a base price player to cash out too though so hopefully TLT brings one out, warriors hooker etc.

I'll throw in my 2 cents here

TTurbo is a lock. Will either be on the wing or fullback depending on team make up.

Cook is a lock aswell. I expect he will be at 14 with a tackle machine that has good direction starting at 9. Wallace, McInnes, Griffin the options I see here.

JDB is a strong chance. There are ~7 middles to fit into 6 spots depending on bench make up. JDB Vaughan Klemmer Woods JTurbo Frizell RCG will be playing for 6 spots(assuming Cordner and Graham on the edge and not carrying an edge back row). If they want another edge option off the bench Frizell might fill that role leaving 5 spots for the other 6 to fill.

Arrow is probably one year away. If QLD go down 2-0 he might get blooded for game 3 but I think he needs to prove himself a bit longer
