Not normally one to do this but who do we like as last reserve out of Su'a, Havili and Cogger. Would love to poolhoop with Croker but will be on a plane with limited time to make changes. Leaning Cogger at this stage as he should be a solid 35 with chance at attacking stats.

    Why trbo over taumo?

Can't quite reach out to Taumalolo pricewise. Brown's really thrown a spanner in the works and given me too many options to stress over.

Going with my gut on Rapana. One of those players like Taupau that you end up missing a big score if you wait too long.

Is it confirmed that origin players won't play the week prior to origin still? Just gives them more time to back-up after being standalone I guess.

Other than Jake, it's only JDB that I could afford, big fan of him in the past, but hasn't really been the same this year.

Wanting to dump Dufty. Walker seems worthy of a thought, but would prefer to wait a week at least (Hot and cold at 6).

I could take a risk and play Holmes this week, get Su'a in for Dufty, then bring in RTS next week for Nicholl's (has a bit more cash to make this week IMO with Surgess out).

That would give me a full strength EMG bench of; Su'a, TPJ, Cogger & Holmes. Looks pretty solid on paper.

Thoughts? Any must haves this week I'm missing?

On the face of it definitely need to generate some more cash.  So personally I'd be using trades for that and not saving them this week.  Too much unknown with Haas for my team make up, but I don't mind the trade in your circumstance, not much else around.

When did you grab Cogger out of interest?

SI, Bbowler - thanks for the reply. Much obliged.

Got Cogger in last week for Croker - so I avoided his shitness a week earlier than most.

I could use some thoughts if anyone is able to spare one

My team from last week is
    (C)Smith
    Arrow, Kikau
    RFM, JFH, JTurbo
    JMK Maloney
    Latrell, Hiku
    Tedesco, TTurbo, Thompson

    INT:
    Haivili, Rein, TPJ, Sorenson

    EMG:
    Gosi, Kennar, Croker, Surgess
    $217k itb.

With Croker gone for the season, he's a definite out. This week, was thinking for Ramien maybe? Kata another choice. Was looking at a centre I could really set and forget while moving Hiku into Emergency.

Is it also worth dropping Kennar? He's only out a short while but I don't see much left in him price or score wise. Then again I said the same about Isaako and now I regret dropping him. I'd probably do Kennar to Cogger....

Would like to gamble on Gosi>Lane but probably get base price Aubo. When is Poopoo back?

What does everyone see in Ramien that makes him a sudden trade in? Averaging 35 on the back of 2 40+ scores(one included 2 tries) which seems below keeper tier for me. Not enough cash to be made to consider as a cow. Centre is a waste land and I would not be wasting trades upgrade. But if you have to burn trades there why not grab Aitken/Mitchell who are looking like keepers or Croker/Roberts who have proven ability to be keeper centres in the past. I understand Ramien is 100k less but if you are going to need to move him out again or miss out on 5+ points per week why bother?

@Blain I liked your team rundown and analysis

@Brendos1er Can you trade DCE in via your Emg and bank? He's only $795k atm

@MS Keeper centre scores seem to be 35. His scores seem safe considering his low was 25 for his first game. He appears to provide stability.

What's a better tactic? Bring in a gun at a discount but have your bank empty, and potentially struggle to upgrade other positions? Or get a cow and a value buy?

I can afford to get Taumalolo or Fifita plus a cash out (Cogger etc). Or I can go Ramien (30s at Centre) and Cogger, giving me good bank, and good cash generation. (Trade outs: Dugan and Doueihi)

    Team post trades:

    Cook
    Kikau Arrow
    Harris Murray RFM
    DCE Maloney
    Ramien (in) Mitchell
    Ponga Thompson JMK

    Smith Rein JFH TPJ

    Brown Sorensen Cogger Isaako

    400k ITV, 20 trades

My concern is if I get Fifita or Taumalolo, I have to worry about upgrading a Prop/2RF, Half, Centre, and 2 WFB spots with no cash. I see Ramien as being value and Cogger to bring in some cash.

    Is this sound?

Just figured that Kennar and Isaako onwers like myself can get a free look at Isaako if you're stuck on what to do with Kennar. Just put Kennar starting with Isaako in your EMG's. If Isaako gets a 50, leave Kennar in and I'm sure you get Isaako's score? If Isaako gets 20, do the trade to whoever you were looking at before the bunnies play.

I'm the last to take advice from (ranked 4000 and going down), but...

Ramien for me has too much movement going on in the backline: Katoa could come back in soon. Dugan could be as little as 4 weeks away, but will fight to come back in time for origin selections. Feki, Holmes and moylen all make the backline shuffles a bit shaky for my liking. I don't have any better options in the price range though.I've got BJ and Cotric in my CTRs which is enough to not really worry week to week - good ceiling but nothing stellar overall.

I like the second trade. Cogger is going to run with some points and make enough cash. Still gives you a rd 13 player. lock it in.

I'm wrestling with the same issues. Have gone precisely the other way, and bought in Tolo and Fonua for Dugan and NAS.

There are decent odds I'll flip back before lockout and switch in Rapana and Lane for Dugan and Goosie.

You've outlined the problem well: points now vs points then vs risk!!

Eh. Fortunately its just a game, and not some all-consuming hobby that I check before sleeping and after waking....

For reference (and chime in if you have any ideas!):
    Cook
    Arrow Fifi
    Murray Tolo RFM
    RyMatt Maloney
    Bird Isaako
    Ponga Teddy JMK
    JFH TPJ Kikau Havili
    Goosie JT CThomp Fonua

Good spot mate. That's what I'm doing. What I like about Ramien is his tackling breaking ability due to the fact that he runs hard & straight & he has the power to bump off defenders.

So Doueihi owners like myself are we still holding for the inevitable A-Rey injury. I was on the Souths forum & apparently A-Rey is being needled up before each game so he's obviously playing injured. However this would be the same for a lot of players in the nrl.
