I was reading about Fifita the other day. He is reportedly on 800k per year for 4 years (to 2022)

I have fears Payne Haas will be like trex during his early days. And end up like trex.

I really wish we didn't sign Bird. I fear with that Haas contract we will lose another young forward who turns out to be a gun.

The QRL article on Haas says its a six year deal (with quote from Bennett also saying six years)..

3 mil for 6 years makes alot more sense. Probably exaggerated still.

When will the Broncos realise that they actually need a half back?

It's still absurd considering he's only played 2 games of first grade. And in two games he got injured twice and knocked out once!

It was hard to match the Titans deal. Titans offered more money and chance of starting. Broncos deal would have been a lower deal to play off the bench behind the QLD and Aus lock McGuire. It is similar to the Ash Taylor scenario. Though the Broncos could have moved McGuire to prop and played Arrow at lock. However, don't be surprised if Pat Carrigan breaks his way into the team and is equal or better than Arrow.

I don't know the ins and outs, but I'm sure Arrow wanted to stay, especially if he got a starting role. Even though Titans offered more, Broncos dropped the ball for not starting him. Yes, he's a better lock than McGuire, he should have shifted to the forwards. Ash Taylor was fair enough, it just backfired when Hunt went. just looked desperate when it looked like they wanted to get him back.

IMO, they should go after Corey Norman. I know he's a loose cannon and being back at home would be a worry, but he's worth getting.

Norman isn't much of an organising half. The Broncos have a few young potentially good halves in their system. Though the problem is the expectation from fans and media about their premiership drought. If the fans are patience then in three to five years the Broncos will start to look like the Panthers but better. The Broncos are building a very strong forward pack, plus Milford, Roberts, a sharpshooter in Isaako, Bird, and a halfback. If they keep all the pieces they need and potential is reached then the Broncos will be in a very good position.

Fair enough, I'm not a Broncos fan at all, so couldn't really care less. Just seems like they have gone backwards the last couple of seasons. I think fans and media expect more because they were so close to a Premiership and haven't looked likely since. The Bird signing was horrid and this amount of money on Haas seems unconvincing.

I do like Isaako, Staggs and Fifita though. Sims and Thiaday gone will help along with Gillett.

True. He has finally reached his full potential starting down there for the Knights. Moga too, even though he's out now, he's a great player when fit.

Seems strange Broncos couldn't match deals for all these players yet all the money for Milf, Bird and now Haas, it just seems like their recruitment strategy is dodgy and the staff doing their retention and scouting for new recruits are doing a terrible job.
