Bloody game day already tomorrow, and I can't work out if it's worth dumping Lewis for a 212K player in order to get JTurbo. Will leave me with shit EMG's but a strong 17. Or keep Lewis and get Kikau/Surgess instead.

Need to know if there is any chance of this Clifford starting, or if Wright could possibly hang around at Manly.

Fair enough, I'm not a Broncos fan at all, so couldn't really care less.  Just seems like they have gone backwards the last couple of seasons.  I think fans and media expect more because they were so close to a Premiership and haven't looked likely since.  The Bird signing was horrid and this amount of money on Haas seems unconvincing.

I do like Isaako, Staggs and Fifita though.  Sims and Thiaday gone will help along with Gillett.

You can probably tell that I am a Broncos fan and therefore pay more attention to them. I think what really hurt the Broncos is Hunt. After Lockyer retired the Broncos were the same and they dropped a bit. Hunt has a breakout year in 2014 and is later joined by Milford in 2015. They go on a massive run and come within a whisker of winning the premiership and expectations increased. Hunt then goes into his shadow and is never quite the same. Now I feel they have hit a rebuilding stage. I kinda agree with the Bird signing. He is a great player when fit and is a competitor but doesn't really fit anywhere. He was going to be a ball-playing lock but we have TPJ. He could become a 5/8, but right now there isn't much room for him. I would trade him for Townsend if possible. With Haas if he lives up to his name 500K a year for a top prop will be a bargain.

Let's be honest if Haas lives up to his potential they will be paying for upgrades or he'll leave for family reasons.

True.  He has finally reached his full potential starting down there for the Knights.  Moga too, even though he's out now, he's a great player when fit.

Seems strange Broncos couldn't match deals for all these players yet all the money for Milf, Bird and now Haas, it just seems like their recruitment strategy is dodgy and the staff doing their retention and scouting for new recruits are doing a terrible job.

Ese'ese is a big loss, but Knights appartently paid massive overs which currently working out. It was same with Moga but any Broncos fan will be happy to see him gone. He was only good for his kick returns.

I agree re Hunt. He has never been the same since and really hurt their performances after that GF IMO. But it would have hurt all of them too, not just him. Milford seems half hearted too and Boyd IMO offers little, his negative mindset I feel reflects in the team too, not a good leader.

I think the overall stigma of being a 'Bronco' is pressure of current players and hard to live up to no matter what at times. If they can get all of Haas, TPJ, Fifita, Gillett, McGuire, Glenn all on the field at once, they do have a good forward pack. Mago is improving and showed some good things in the Titans game and I don't know where Staggs preferred position is, but he's a gun. Niko is better from the bench, so I think a good halfback will help them tenfold.

Fair enough. Speaking of centres surely Roberts needs to pull finger too?

I can definitely see what you mean about Boyd and Milford. Milford is definitely a confidence player. If the team is playing well so is he, if not then he will spit his dummy like his captain.

Staggs preferred position is center. This would be my Broncos team for next year if I was in control.

    Boyd
    Kahu
    Roberts
    Staggs
    Isaako
    Bird
    Milford
    Lodge
    Macca
    McGuire
    Su’A
    Gillett
    TPJ

    Offa
    Glenn
    Haas/Mago/Fifita
    Nikorima

Hass/Mago/Fifita would be rotated through the year as they still quite young and inexperienced.

He can be a bit like Milford, he is a confidence player. I think it was the Sharks game or whichever game was before SOO3 Roberts was consistently hovering around the middle and getting more involved and he looked dangerous. Another option could be to move him to fullback, I feel he could be a real problem on kick returns and of course a must-have in Fantasy.

The same folk who touted arrow as the next corey parker (before playing FG) have all had the same, if not higher, praise for Haas as hes come through. Pretty confident we've made the right call to lock him up for an extra 5 years.

Gutfeel is that Bird is released in the not too distant future.

If I had more than 1 trade left I might ask what trades I should be making as J. Croker slowly rots away in my emergencies.

We haven't had a great halfback since the almighty Shane Perry.

But yeah I've been saying for a long time now we need a HB. I said when Hunt signed for the Dragons last year Bennett will run with Nikorima at HB next year and watch us have an average season... and boom.

You seriously want to go another season with Boyd at FB? Isaako is ready to take the reigns, he's a gun and Darius is a slow old man.

Boyd is actually bad.. I'd play him at 6 and put Milford at 1 TBH. Bennett won't drop him, and as a passing 6 he'd probably do OK. Sort of like a broken Foran.

Arrow being let go, on top of Wallace the year before, and retaining Thaiday/Glenn through blind loyalty were mistakes. Bird was insane. He was terrible last season, but still got a HUGE deal. Even Lodge is a head scratcher. He's OK, but hardly worth the work/image damage.

The saving fact is there is a lot of young talent still there, but they are probably 2-3 seasons from bearing fruit. By that time, who knows what will happen, half will probably go elsewhere.

6 year deal for a young fella, can't see it working. Good luck to both parties, can't see it working out for both of them.

What is everyone expecting from Matterson this week? Listed to come off the bench do you think he will be there come game day? if so, then with Tetavano, Aubs, and Baptise the other current reserves what kind of role to you think he plays?

Hoping he plays the year out on the bench and gets a starting role next year so he's value again.

Not sure why Broncos are blowing their wad on a young "could be" who looked average in his limited game time when they have legitimate promising forwards in TPJ, Su'a, Ofa. Even Fifita has looked better than Haas
