Thanks Bren (and any others) that set up the league for this year. Always a highlight.

@SI
got it mate
Go to leagues then there is a my history tab
click that and it gives you our final rank, best rank and total score
along with your position within any league you entered
I would screenshot it but it doesn't make for some pleasant viewing...for myself anyway
most of you morons would fucking love it no doubt

Here is a newish one I have mentioned him before
in keeping my my last 10 round format in which I focus on that more
Junior Paulo FR $362,000
season avg 41 (40.5) season minutes avg 48
only played in 6 games from R1-R16 (think he was suspended for a throw?)
points avg 32 minutes avg 42.5
From here things get interesting
R17-R26 minus his R18 bye Paulo played all 9 names
points avg 46 minutes avg 52
Wicks was out during most of the last 10 rounds and Alvaro was in, so likely the main reason why Paulo increased his minutes and output but food for thought

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
Very surprised to see Paul Vaughan only averaged 42 minutes last year and Shannon Boyd only averaged 36 minutes, both go over 1 PPM
with Shillo now elsewhere either of these 2 could see an increase in minutes and easily go beyond their priced avg
either that or Papa is going into the FR which makes Whitehead very appealing again
Vaughan is massively underrated IMO and always comes into my team considerations

Will be looking out for a cash cow prop from Canberra (Rhys Kennedy? Pangai?) because if Papa plays back row their prop depth is shit.

FPN there as well but shit depth as you say, would like to see Papa shift for fantasy purposes because Whitehead is cheaper than Vaughan and Boyd will go very well if he can get that stating backrow spot

Yep, just Frank and a past-it Jeff Lima in the established prop depth.
There are quite a few young props in that 340-360k range who have the potential to kick on in minutes and responsibility, and could be $400k+ players. JTrbo looks the likeliest by a distance, but Boyd, Turgess and Napa are all possibilities.

JTurbo yes, Boyd yes due to potential increase in minutes
Napa and Turgess no, Napa already playing 50 minutes can't see that changing, and just don't think Turgess will go above where he is already priced

I mention Turgess because seeing him in the test series he's really improved as a player (I didn't used to rate him). He's a much more secure ball-running option now and even if his minutes don't increase his activity could (less dummy lines, more ball-carrying). And apart from his brothers I don't really see anyone else for Souths to give the ball to. That logic does kind of rule out Napa because Roosters still have a load of quality options up front.

Did Soli ever play up front in ESL? I saw an article a month or so back where sticky said papa would remain a wide runner, but Soli could play some middle.

Soliola hits like a freight train. No matter where he plays you have to watch out for him.

Still, its a good thing that lots of players get talked about.
We want to make sure we catch next seasons Frizell, RTS, and Mannering. And if they aren't in our teams its because we thought about them and decided against them, not because we ignored them completely.
Someone mentioned that we all pick from the same pool of 50 players.
In part that is because only a certain subset of NRL players are actually useful in fantasy. But is important we are considering everyone we need to.

Yet you look at who the top 10 scorers from last season were and smith and Parker are the only ones anyone's really been mentioning (fifita seems to have picked up some favour in the last few days).
I've barely seen a mention of Thurston, Hunt or RTS as legitimate options - Mannering and macca get the occasional look in.
Not criticising - I just find it interesting. I do think there's a risk though that as a group we are overlooking a few of the most proven scorers who are likely to remain in the upper echelon this year

I know we have talked about Chris Lawrence already but what are the chances he gets 80 mins in the backrow? Or is it just Sironen who will be the only Tigers 2RF to play 80?

Let's consider Luke Brooks... he had 75 missed tackles and 24 errors to his name last season (That's -198 fantasy points),
if he can reduce these by half this season he could make some cash

I find that with players like Soli who made massive amounts of cash last year, it's harder to view them by their merits became you just see them as a cash cow who's been milked. I hadn't even considered him, but he's no worse than a lot of other options at that price point.

Oh I just meant that if you are not careful he will smash you in a tackleSoylentGreen wrote:

Soward wasn't a lot better and was the talk of the forum yesterday.
Can Brooks reduce his negatives? Did he improve from 2014? Why are they tigers pus?

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 4
I still think Gurgess is a good pick. There won't be the pressure on to be the main go forward man now that his bro is back & he can revert back to his tackle breaking best. Also Turgess is a year older & wiser & he can also take a bit of pressure of George. Hopefully Gurges can focus on his footy instead of taking nude pictures of himself & demolishing motor vehicles
